Ajith Kumar Rumoured to Produce AK64 Himself After Reports of Budget Concerns

Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar is in the news once again and industry rumours are surfacing that he could co-produce his next film - AK64 (tentatively named AK64) under his own banner and the actor is working a little on it. There is no official word of the film but the fever of hope is high for Ajith Kumar as many fans are hungry for the actor's next collaboration with director Adhik Ravichandran.

According to the Tamil film industry, several production houses were reportedly not willing to bankroll the project due to Ajith Kumar's remuneration demands, which are said to be between ₹100 crore and ₹200 crore. Rumour has it that the actor has decided to self-finance the movie so he has more creative and financial control over the project.

Shalini Ajith Kumar will play a key role in the production and is to manage finances and production, and even presenter credits. If true, this is a big deal for the couple as they are now teaming up to support Ajith’s most ambitious project.

AK64 is currently in a stage of pre-production (as directed by Adhik Ravichandran), says the filmmaker who wrote the script and is preparing for its production. Anirudh Ravichander will compose the film’s music and the project is gathering momentum.

There are also rumours that AK64 will be a family entertainer with action, emotion, and commercial elements. And casting talks have also stoked up fans with Kayadu Lohar being mentioned as a major actor in the film. And there is talk that Malayalam superstar Mohanlal could play a cameo role here as well but this is not yet confirmed.

The project has become one of the most talked-about Tamil films currently in development and fans have been following every update on social media closely. In many ways, Ajith could produce the film himself, and so many have liked that move as it would allow the actor more freedom to work.
