The excitement over Karthi's upcoming action-packed spy thriller Sardar 2 is only intensified by the new posters featuring an all-new big reveal. A tagline, “Once a Spy, Always a Spy,” has been added to the new campaign as fans are eagerly awaiting the reveal tomorrow.
Karthi posted the striking posters on his social media accounts and urged fans to “Stay Tuned” for what appears to be a major update from the highly anticipated sequel. The posters paint the actor in a tough avatar and heavily depict a Yali, the mythical guardian creature from South Indian temple architecture, suggesting some deeper symbolic themes in the film.
One of the posters also carries a Tamil phrase that refers to the strength and fearlessness of the Yali and the possibility that the sequel might tackle courage, legacy, and resilience alongside its espionage-driven storyline. The fans could clearly see the symbolism in the figure and many felt that the mythical symbol represented the spirit of Karthi’s original spy character.
In the first movie, Karthi's biggest commercial hit was the espionage, action, and social commentary. The second one is expected to be even more impressive.
Sardar 2 has been directed by P. S. Mithran again, who was the filmmaker behind the movie’s first installment. Known for great action and socially relevant narrative, Mithran is going to expand the franchise with big action sequences and more complicated espionage elements and international locations.
Karthi is part of an ensemble cast that includes SJ Suryah, Malavika Mohanan, Ashika Ranganath, and Rajisha Vijayan. It has created even better anticipation among the film’s audience to see more of the same and also a new cast.
Sam CS, the film’s music composer, is scoring the music for the film. Sardar 2 is his 100th film in his career and so it is a big deal that it is of course, very special.
