Aluminium producer Varalaxmi Sarathkumar has penned a touching note in support of Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay in a heartwarming message to give him a message to the people and urge them to give him a chance to do whatever he is going to do to make good on his promises and work hard for.
On social media, Varalaxmi said that while people may have different opinions, the democratic mandate should be respected.
"People may say a hundred different things, but at the end of the day, C. Joseph Vijay is our Chief Minister, and he’s here to stay," she wrote.
The actress hailed Vijay’s achievement of becoming Chief Minister on his very first electoral attempt as a remarkable accomplishment that reflects the trust and love of the people of Tamil Nadu.
"Criticism is easy, but being elected as Chief Minister on the first attempt requires immense courage, determination and an overwhelming love from the people of Tamil Nadu. Let's honor this position of power," she said.
Varalaxmi also appealed to critics to be patient and allow the new government time to prove itself.
"Actions speak louder than words. To those who find faults, time will reveal the truth. Until then, let's exercise a bit of patience, respect, and encouragement to see what he truly accomplishes," she added.
A longtime admirer of Vijay, she affectionately referred to herself as a “Vijay Veriyan” and said she was grateful to meet him to spend time with her.
"I loveeeee youuu saaarrrr... always have, always will be a 'Vijay Veriyan.' Thank you for meeting with us and spending so much time," she wrote.
Varalaxmi also recalled a conversation she had with Vijay while shooting Sarkar and said she sensed even then that politics was his destined path.
"Laughing about what I told him on the sets of 'Sarkar'— I knew then that this was his journey. Always warm and humble," she said.
The actress said she and the Chief Minister discussed a number of women’s welfare issues and she is optimistic about the changes his government will bring to the people of the state.
In conclusion of her message, Varalaxmi wished Vijay success in his tenure and prayed for the prosperity of Tamil Nadu under his leadership.
"We even got to discuss a few women welfare-related issues, and I'm looking forward to seeing the amazing changes unfold for the people of Tamil Nadu. God bless you, sir, and may the people of Tamil Nadu flourish under your leadership,” she wrote.
