Jana Nayagan (Actor Vijay) is finally starting the process for the screen after an untimely delay brought on by certification problems. Originally slated for a Pongal celebration in January, the film was postponed post-approval by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), which took longer than planned. Now that the CBFC is alleged to be giving the film ‘A’ certificate, exhibitors and ticket offering platforms have started to press that it will have a July 24 release – although the creators, KVN Productions, cannot verify an official release. For many Vijay fans, the film brings a sense of special meaning, as widely believed, it is his last movie before fully engaging in politics. Ticketing platform District released the film with an emotional tribute, declaring it Vijay's "one last First Day." 34 years, 68 films, 68 first days, all before one final First Day. July 24 - Jana Nayagan on the Big Screen. The news has caught the world by storm. There are now thousands of tickets for a couple of countries (the UK is also one), indicating that the anticipation for the film has only never been greater.

Rumours of an Earlier Premiere
Exhibitors are claiming that July 24 is the official release date, but social media chatter has been swirling about Jana Nayagan hitting theaters a day earlier than on July 23 with special premieres. But neither KVN Productions nor the film’s crew confirmed these rumors.
Directed by H. Vinoth, the movie is said to depict how an ordinary man on a train of life leads the way to becoming an out-of-the-ordinary leader while fighting social injustice in his community. The cast consists of Pooja Hegde, along with Mamitha Baiju, Bobby Deol and other famous actors. It is also rumored, though not officially confirmed by the makers, that the movie is based on Anil Ravipudi’s Telugu hit Bhagavanth Kesari.
The release also comes just months after a major setback for the production. In April, footage from the film was leaked online before release, prompting an investigation that reportedly resulted in multiple arrests.
Jason Sanjay's Sigma May Shift Release
That release timing has also highlighted Sigma, the directorial debut of Vijay's son, Jason Sanjay. Produced by Lyca Productions, in a dual male-star team, it stars Sundeep Kishan and Faria Abdullah; it is set for a full release on July 31.
In contrast, the industry reports indicate that Sigma's makers are preparing to wait until August before the film can take off to avoid a headslong collision with the huge wave of fandom that will be expected for Jana Nayagan. The production house has not issued any official confirmation to date.
With early bookings already receiving a strong response and anticipation on the rise, Jana Nayagan is likely one of the biggest Tamil releases slated this year and a bittersweet goodbye to Vijay’s storied filmmaking.
