The excitement is building for TV viewers as Bigg Boss Kannada Season 13 is coming on August 16. With a couple of days left before the big reality show comes back to television screens, Colors Kannada has put out new promotional videos, which have resulted in great curiosity among fans. And this season is special because the channel has opened the doors of the iconic Bigg Boss house to common people, allowing them to compete alongside the other participants and show their own personalities on one of the biggest entertainment platforms in Karnataka.

For the latest promotional clips released by the channel, the selection process for aspiring contestants is unique in that, unlike previous seasons where contestants are challenged to show themselves, they are judged to present their talent, confidence, and personality in front of a panel of judges. Only those who impress the judges are able to get closer to entering the Bigg Boss house.
One of the contestants that jumped out at me immediately was a 20-year-old young woman who had to be introduced with the tagline “Chota Packet, Bada Dhamaka.” She made a good impression on the judges with her confidence and spontaneous responses. In the audition, she had a friendly chat with host Niranjan Deshpande, and her funny questions were also well-received and genuine from the contestant.
Sangeetha Sringeri, one of the judges (the judge who was responsible for selecting the participants), was very impressed with the young participant. In a very special moment in the promo, Sangeetha awarded her a star, so she was indeed able to directly recommend her to enter the Bigg Boss house. The audience roared with an enthusiastic response to her and has already made the contestant one of the first to be up front and foremost in the minds of the fans who were eagerly waiting for news of the upcoming season.
But the biggest surprise was a 72-year-old grandmother who walked in on stage at the audition, where she instantly brought everyone into the action. Her presence on the stage brought new life into the selection process. She impressed and challenged people’s beliefs about what age and reality shows are, showing that people with confidence can participate in reality.
The elderly contestant asked the judges humorously, “How many 72-year-olds had ever tried to enter the Bigg Boss house?” Her bold question brought smiles and admiration from the judges. Judge Vinay Gowda then asked whether the gruelling Bigg Boss house, including food shortages and physical challenges, might be an issue for her health.
The grandmother confidently answered that she was prepared to compete just like any other contestant. The very first time, she slapped her thigh confidently and promised that she would be involved in the game and that she would deal with any challenge head-on. She was a fighter, and the judges and audience loved her.
Her promotional video had her enthusiastic and confident, and yet the channel has not yet indicated whether she has actually secured a place amongst the final batch of contestants. This has only attracted more and more interest amongst the viewers who are still wondering who will be in the Bigg Boss house this season.
The show looks like Bigg Boss Kannada Season 13 will have a fresh young energy, with contestants from different backgrounds in all fields of people able to come and compete and become a part of the show.
When the big premiere takes place in the fall in November, the Bigg Boss audience will eagerly anticipate which contestants are going to enter the house and how they can get through the obstacles, friendships, rivalries, and drama of Bigg Boss. Season 13 is going to be the most electrifying in the show I know of.
