Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) Season 18 has come back in 2026 and Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan again hosts. The quiz show was introduced on August 10, 2026, marking another chapter in one of India’s most popular television franchises.
The 18th season of Kaun Banega Crorepati is being broadcast on Sony Entertainment Television and is also available on Sony LIV. The show runs Mondays to Fridays at 9 PM and viewers can follow the contestants' journey and their attempts to answer ever harder questions.
Amitabh Bachchan is the big draw of the new season. KBC has been the show's host for over two decades now, and Amitabh Bachchan had hosted the show’s first season in 2000 and has been a part of the show for more than two decades, but has been there for most of the episodes. His approach to the programme, his hosting of the show, interaction with contestants and emotional exchanges with them, has made it very much a part of the very DNA of the show.
Season 18 also has a new theme called 'Sochna Padega', which is about not just knowing information. In the campaign, people are shown how easy information access via smartphones and the internet has changed the way they think. Contestants are therefore urged to think about what questions are going to be asked and make educated choices rather than just memorising information and making snap decisions.
The show is the same as in the last season; contestants answer questions to win cash. The questions get harder and harder as they go through, with the contestants' knowledge in history, science, geography, current affairs, sports and popular culture.
For those who prefer watching KBC online, Sony LIV provides a digital option with the TV broadcast. The platform has also been used for the show's registration and participation process and official KBC information confirms Sony LIV as one of the available modes for contestants.
Season 18 is also a big deal because Amitabh Bachchan will be present. Before the premiere, the veteran actor disclosed that he had done an intense 24-hour work shift connected to KBC, showing how hard it is to get the new season out for the masses.
With its familiar host, new “Sochna Padega” theme and a new group of contestants, Kaun Banega Crorepati 2026 wants to take the show’s emotional appeal and add a new layer of thinking.
