Raaka is going to become an even larger project for its visionary director Atlee and the immensely talented actor Allu Arjun. Recently, it was reported that the film’s creative team has decided to remake Raaka as a two-part movie and the complex and engaging story in two different time periods will be given a bit more depth and complexity.
Raaka was officially released in April 2026 and had the title reveal and a beautiful first-look teaser that generated such excitement to the public which it was like an earthquake. Set up by Sun Pictures, the film has an excellent and talented cast with Allu Arjun in the lead and Deepika Padukone in key roles. The film is budgeted at around ₹1,000 crore for production so it is big and big ambitions for this movie. The filmmakers and the producers have discussed with each other to divide up the film and it turns out that both parts will be completed by the end of this year so we can expect the next year but fans are eagerly waiting for the new one.
As well as the good news about the film’s structure, there are casting rumours that are going to be happening online that Raaka has emerged in the last few months that very good casting. The well-known actress Mrunal Thakur will play a modern-day character in the film and the historical version is expected to be Janhvi Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna, who are highly respected in the industry, are also expected in the film. It is also currently being speculated that Allu Arjun will play two roles in the film because he will have to make out of the movie as a character from different times in the film’s big story and from different time periods and there is also the possibility of Shah Rukh Khan being in the film's history of the film so the movie’s popularity is going to be really high in the future. But as of now we do not really have any news of him to share with us.
Raaka’s scale has brought comparisons to other grand films of Indian cinema like Baahubali and fantasy filmmakers have expressed their desire for a vast universe of visual effects and a big story that can be told to many people around the world. From the very first look of Raaka, an audience has been eagerly waiting for the film which is more and more excited to be part of this world Raaka is going to create.
As the anticipation builds, we are waiting on the movie’s two-part structure, the confirmed cast and when will it be released. Raaka will become one of the most ambitious and monumental projects in Indian cinema by 2027, and as such it will define the history of cinema to its fullest scope and present with an eye-blowing story and world-class visuals.
