Newton’s Third Law is one of those investigative thrillers that stays in the viewer’s mind even after the credits roll. Set around a mystery that is compelling, the film brings suspense and unexpected twists and emotional scenes to make it a good thriller experience.
The film takes its time to establish the central investigation and gradually introduces the key elements of the story. As the story progresses, new details emerge and the mystery becomes more complex. The film keeps audience interest by revealing information at carefully selected moments.
Newton’s Third Law’s greatest strength is its ability to generate curiosity. The story makes the viewer question the motives of the individuals and closely observe the investigation. The twists are well placed so that the story continues.
The film also benefits from a refreshing concept. Sumanth brings a very interesting idea to the screen and the narrative is trying to look at the investigative genre from the other side.
Although some of the film has a certain element of the thriller in its structure in parts, the central idea and how the mystery develops really give this film its own identity.
Rajesh Karna has handled the story with confidence. His approach keeps the investigation at the heart of the movie and the characters and the relationships of the characters remain the focus.
The direction is particularly effective in the suspenseful parts. Rajesh Karna builds tension without revealing too much too early; the mystery takes the time to reveal itself.
The screenplay keeps the audience engaged throughout many key events. The pacing is a bit inconsistent in a few parts of the film, but the film gets the momentum back as it moves into the final act.
The climax is one of the film’s strengths. It ties all those narrative threads together and is satisfying at the end.
Sinjith Yerramil’s background score is a huge factor in improving the mood of the film. In addition to the strong BGM, the investigation scenes are very much of the moment and the twists are big.
Music creates tension but doesn’t overwhelm the storytelling. When it’s most important the score helps to create a sense of urgency and keep the audience engaged with the mystery at the same time.
We have also the performances.
Jagapathi Babu, popularly known as Jaggu Bhai, delivers a great performance. He is a good actor and the way he keeps his character is very expressive and is so much more affecting when in front of him.
The supporting cast also contributes to the investigative drama. The film’s tone is very serious (and the mystery is moving along) and actors are able to play their characters well.
Technical departments work on a team and collaborate to build a suspenseful and dark atmosphere. Visuals, editing and sound design are the main elements of the thriller.
The film’s biggest strength is that it doesn’t just rely on action or shock value. Instead, it aims to build suspense through its investigation, characters and gradual revelations.
There are a few bits that could have been tighter. Some of the stuff could have been much faster and a few things could have been done differently.
But such problems do not affect the overall experience all that much. The clever twists and satisfying climax put the film on a good note and then the film ends with a bang.
Newton’s Third Law is a fantastic choice for those who want a great suspenseful weekend watch. The investigation aspect is so great, with confident direction, a strong background score and Jagapathi Babu’s excellent performance.
It isn’t a thriller but a thriller.
