Salaar 2 Pre-Production Begins: Prabhas & Prashanth Neel Reunite

The much anticipated Salaar 2: Shouryaanga Parvam starring Prabhas and directed by Prashanth Neel is now in pre-production stage and it is full of hope for fans of the 2023 action hit as a movie.

As reported by ET Now, director Prashanth Neel and producer Vijay Kiragandur have reunited to work on the script, schedules and production plans of the film and are also working on the film’s script, schedules and production.

Jr NTR's Dragon Delay Opens a Window

The development comes just as Neel's other major project Dragon with Jr NTR has been temporarily affected by the actor's shoulder injury.

Jr NTR had successful arthroscopic shoulder surgery on August 12 and is expected to undergo rehabilitation, with reports that he could take around two to three months to return to normal activities.

With Dragon temporarily paused, Neel is reportedly using the window to advance work on Salaar 2.

Salaar 2: Shouryaanga Parvam

The sequel will continue the story of Deva, played by Prabhas, and Varadha Raja Mannar, played by Prithviraj Sukumaran, after the events of Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire.

The first film ended on a big cliffhanger, so audiences are left to see how the power struggle in Khansaar develops in the sequel.

There is some evidence that some of Salaar 2 has been filmed already - including parts of the characters’ younger years. But it is not yet known exactly how much completed footage and the final production schedule has been confirmed by the makers.

When will Salaar 2 release?

Although there has been speculation about a 2029 theatrical release date, there is no official release date for Salaar 2 as of now.

The film's schedule will depend on Prabhas' commitments, Neel's work on Dragon and the overall production timeline. So the reported 2029 target should be considered an industry estimate rather than a confirmed date.

For now, the biggest takeaway is that Salaar 2 is already in motion and Neel and Kiragandur are preparing for the sequel.
