Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has quit the much-talked-about biopic on entrepreneur and former BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover, apparently because of the creative differences with debutant director Rahul Mody. The abrupt departure of Khan is a major blow to the project, which has received a lot of attention since Khan was attached to play the lead role.
Aamir had spent a lot of time developing the script and was involved with the development of the movie. But with the project’s creative direction in conflict, he left. The actor and filmmakers have not commented on the reports but several entertainment portals say that they have made a mutual decision to part ways.
Shraddha Kapoor still leads as Producer and Lead.
Despite Aamir’s exit, the film is moving forward with Shraddha Kapoor still firmly attached to the project. She will play Madhuri Jain Grover, Ashneer Grover’s wife, and also work on production. The makers are now looking for a younger actor to play Ashneer Grover and casting has already begun.
The film’s production timeline could also change as well. The project was to go on floors in March 2027 but a new lead actor could push it further.
Another high-profile exit for Aamir Khan
Aamir Khan has walked away from a major project once he was involved in development. Over the years, the actor has pulled out of big movies, including the long-discussed Rakesh Sharma biopic (which was written by him too) for many years after hours of writing the script. He is working on a sequel to the box office-shaping 3 Idiots and another big project called Lalkaar based on the life of great Indian cricketer Lala Amarnath. These films are likely to be his top priorities in the next few years.

The former Shark Tank India judge is one of India’s best-known entrepreneurs today and his career in the startup industry. With Shraddha Kapoor still backing the film and the search for a new leading man underway, the movie makers are going to regroup before they give us the current cast and production schedule.
