Arshad Warsi’s ‘Jeevan Ya Bheema Con?’ Gets UA 16+ Certificate; Title Revealed Ahead of September 4 Release
Roshad Warsi’s new dark comedy Jeevan Ya Bheema Con? has received a UA 16+ certificate from the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) and will be released on 4 September 2026 with a UA 16+ certificate to add to the film's already excellent status before it's released on September 4th, 2026 as a film. The movie, which stars Warsi in a double role with Sanjeeda Shaikh and Vijay Raaz, was already promoted as “Jeevan Bheema Yojana” and was widely promoted with an amazing banner of ‘Jeevan Bheema Yojana’ previously.
The official title was revealed only during a release week, so the title change was one of the most talked about aspects of its promotion campaign. According to sources, the makers used Jeevan Bheema Yojana throughout the promotional period before they unveiled the true title, ‘Jeevan Ya Bheema Con?’. The new title is closely associated with the film’s themes of deception, mistaken identities, crime and chaos.
CBFC certification also gives audiences an indication of the film’s intended viewing category. The board currently has separate UA classifications for UA 7+, UA 13+ and UA 16+, with UA 16+ indicating that the film is suitable for public exhibition but there is a warning about viewers below the specified age. The certification system was extended in October 2024 to include age-specific UA categories.
The film certification is a crucial step in its campaign and the release is just a couple of days away. The film is directed by Abhishek Dogra as a dark comedy with Warsi in his first reported double role. His two contrasting roles, Jeevan and Bheema, lay bare the possibility of mistaken identities and chaotic situations in the heart of the film.
Sanjeeda Shaikh is also present in the main cast, and Vijay Raaz is also in the film. The trailer has already struck a chord with viewers as Warsi’s looks are very different from those in the film, and crime and comedy are also present in the film. Reviews for the trailer had been very positive and people are interested in the unusual plot and Warsi's dual role.
The title reveal itself is a key part of the film’s marketing strategy. Making it a matter of familiarity, rather than declaring ‘Jeevan Ya Bheema Con?’ from the beginning, the filmmakers created the phrase ‘Jeevan Bheema Yojana’ and revealed that the actual title meant something completely different. The CBFC’s official information indicates that UA 16+ is currently one of the board’s certification categories. The board’s guidelines say that UA-certified films can contain certain mature or disturbing elements; violence, horror, intimacy, addictive habits or other material that may be unsuitable for younger children.
The title’s announcement last-minute for the film added another layer of mystery around its theatrical debut. The certification is now in place and the official name has been revealed; now the focus will be on its opening day performance and audience response.
