Candid Video of Salman Khan at 60 Sparks Debate as Fans React to His Natural Appearance
A video of Salman Khan at the inauguration of the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) Digital Centre in Bandra (Mumbai) has gone viral with people discussing the Bollywood superstar's natural appearance at the age of 60. Salman Khan is seen in a casual outfit and with his longtime bodyguard Shera who was also present as he was giving house keys to more than 50 beneficiary families at the event.
And the footage was completely unprocessed; Salman didn’t have makeup or lighting. The video was widely shared online and the audience had varying opinions. Some fans commented that they didn’t know how different the actor was from his recent films and public appearances but that the video is a microcosm of the natural aging of a man who has been in the limelight for so long and has had so much time to grow.
Several social media users compared Salman's appearance to veteran actor Dharmendra, saying that aging is inevitable even for the biggest movie stars. Many fans rallied around him, saying he was proud of his own stance on the actor's display and that he was open to public appearance (and didn’t try to hide the signs of aging, at least in public) on the face of it, and expressed gratitude that the actor was not hiding his aging. Supporters said there’s nothing unusual about a 60-year-old man looking his age and that the unrealistic expectations of celebrities generated by makeup, filters, and digital enhancements often distort public perception.
The discussion also stressed the growing pressure to keep actors looking young throughout their careers. Public figures are far from being ordinary, fans said, and they can reveal a much more genuine version of themselves to the world; in the film industry, film stars age just like everyone else.
Salman Khan is still working on big film projects and is busy with his schedule. As he is working on his upcoming film Sikandar, it has already made fans very excited.
