Drishyam: The Conclusion Wraps 25-Day Goa Schedule, Iconic Salgaonkar House Returns

Drishyam: The Conclusion, the third part of the Drishyam series, has finished its shooting in Goa, and the team spent nearly 25 days filming in locations connected to the popular Ajay Devgn crime thriller series.

The Conclusion Wraps Goa Schedule, Salgaonkar House Returns

The next film continues the Salgaonkar family story and once again takes audiences back to Goa, where the atmosphere and identity of the franchise has been established. The filmmakers have gone back to many of the locations in the coastal state, and new ones as well to develop new locations for the final chapter with the story based on the coastal location.

One of the most cherished moments for fans will be the restoration of the Salgaonkar house. Noronha’s Bungalow (which was the Salgaonkar family residence in the previous films) is still in place for Drishyam: The Conclusion. The house has become one of the most recognisable visual items in the franchise and is associated with Vijay Salgaonkar (played by Ajay Devgn) and his family.

Ajay Devgn spoke of the property and told us an interesting story about the historic house during a media visit to the bungalow. The bungalow is still owned by an 85-year-old woman who is its caretaker, he said.

The news adds more mystery to the location, one where Drishyam has been such a big part of the Drishyam universe for decades. So when it was discovered that the same property has been kept alive and brought back for the third film, it will probably bring back the old feelings that are so much a part of the series which have drawn the whole franchise from the very beginning.

The Goa schedule was not limited to the Salgaonkar residence. The production team also filmed on a lot of roads and locations across the state. The familiar Goan backdrop will play an essential role again in the film as a matter of fact for the visual continuity of the previous instalments to be maintained.

Another interesting site returning in a new form is Goa’s iconic municipal building. It is also a landmark of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), to which it is also associated. The building was used for Drishyam: The Conclusion as the headquarters of the Goa Police.

The transformation of the municipal building into a police headquarters is particularly important for the franchise because the investigation and the cat-and-mouse dynamic between the Salgaonkar family and the police have been central to the Drishyam narrative.

The film’s line producer Shiva Naik said that shooting had been done on various roads in the state. The busy schedule allowed the production team to shoot different places and to keep Goa as a key part of the film’s atmosphere.

The decision to return to familiar locations will contribute to the continuity through the three films. The Salgaonkar house and other familiar Goan landmarks are something that, for many viewers, will give an instant sense of familiarity while the new story takes off.

The Drishyam franchise has built its audience around its suspenseful narrative, family drama, and themes of crime, investigation and deception. Ajay Devgn has been making Vijay Salgaonkar the face of the series as he plays Vijay Salgaonkar and the Goa setting has really been a big part of it all along that’s a big part of the identity.

With the third film being called The Conclusion, the expectation is high from the fans for how Vijay Salgaonkar’s story is going to play out. It’s good to see the iconic house and the Goa locations back in the picture and so it’s also not surprising that the movie creators are keeping some of the elements that people have come to see with the franchise.

The completion of the roughly 25-day Goa schedule is also a significant milestone in the production. Drishyam: The Conclusion will only grow in popularity as we move to other locations.

For fans, however, the return of Noronha’s Bungalow might be one of the most exciting pieces of behind-the-scenes information. The familiar house, the Goan roads and the transformed police headquarters are going to return the distinctive world of the Salgaonkar family for what promises to be the franchise’s final chapter.
