Hanuman Ansh Box Office Day 29: ₹10 Crore Saturday Surge Takes Film Closer To ₹100 Crore

Hanuman Ansh has become one of the biggest surprise successes of 2026. In this movie, which tells the spiritual journey and life of Neem Karoli Baba, the movie begins on a relatively modest path but it’s been a sleeper hit for weeks now. The film has been in cinemas for more than four weeks and is still being seen by people and has already taken a massive leap on its fifth Saturday.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Hanuman Ansh earned around ₹10 crore on Day 29, taking its India gross collection to about ₹97.99 crore. The latest number puts the film tantalisingly close to the ₹100 crore mark and this would be particularly great considering its production budget is only around ₹2 crore.

When you take into account its long theatrical run, the film’s performance is especially remarkable. Hanuman Ansh was apparently very slow in the first two weeks and didn’t seem to be on the way to a big box office. But it was a good audience response and word of mouth that really helped get it going. It would eventually catch on and become a sleeper hit.

While there were many major releases competing for audience attention, Hanuman Ansh has continued to hold a strong presence in the theater. Mirzapur: The Movie on September 4 and Toxic have been added and Toxic is still going on but the spiritual drama still has a lot of shows for the film. The film is presently in around 47% of theatres in India (approximately 5,055 shows in total) and has been able to stand out despite competition from the other major films.

The ₹10 crore collection on its fifth Saturday is particularly striking when compared with some much bigger productions. Dhurandhar: The Revenge, for instance, reportedly collected around ₹2.7 crore on its fifth Saturday. The remarkable longevity of Hanuman Ansh at the same stage highlights that.

If the momentum continues, the film will be able to cross the ₹100 crore India gross mark very soon. This would only be more remarkable because the film is so low budget. A ₹100 crore gross from a film made for about ₹2 crore would be an extraordinary return on investment.

The makers will also try and get the film to expand beyond India. On Thursday a new poster was released on social media that Hanuman Ansh is going to be released worldwide on September 11, 2026. An international release could be another boost to the movie’s overall business and make it even bigger.

Who Was Neem Karoli Baba?

Hanuman Ansh is centered on Neem Karoli Baba, the Hindu spiritual teacher and devotee of Lord Hanuman. He was born around 1900 in Akbarpur village in modern-day Uttar Pradesh and his birth name is Lakshman Narayan Sharma. He died on September 11, 1973, in Vrindavan.

Neem Karoli Baba was respected for his spiritual teachings and his deep devotion to Lord Hanuman. Many stories about his life, teachings, and alleged miracles have been told over and over. Many of these are from Baba’s followers’ memories as opposed to from real historical records.

The film has revived interest in his life and spiritual journey and also brought his story to a wider theatrical audience. Its unexpected box office success also points to the audience's strong connection with the subject.

Hanuman Ansh 2 Confirmed?

The success of Hanuman Ansh has also paved the way for a sequel. According to Vishal (director of Hanuman Ansh 2), he confirmed it with the audience at a multiplex in Agra. The filmmaker said that Maharaj Ji's birthplace, Firozabad, will be the setting for the second part and he will visit Agra, Mathura, and other places associated with his spiritual journey.

The sequel may also shed light on the lesser-known chapters of Neem Karoli Baba's life. Details on the cast, storyline, and release date of the film are still to be disclosed but already there is interest from the audience who have been attracted to the first one.

For now, Hanuman Ansh is focused on its theatrical milestone. Now at approximately ₹97.99 crore India gross after 29 days and with a ₹10 crore fifth-Saturday collection, it seems well within reach. Its journey from a slow starter to a big sleeper hit has made Hanuman Ansh one of the most unexpected box office stories of 2026.
