Nora Fatehi Faces Rs 3 Crore Defamation Suit Over ‘Lego Airplane’ Remarks
Nora Fatehi is facing legal action after aviation company Dunes Aviation filed a Rs 3 crore defamation suit against the Bollywood actress over comments she allegedly made about one of the company’s chartered aircraft. The case is being heard in Gandhinagar court, with the aviation company accusing the actress of making derogatory, reckless and allegedly misleading comments about its aircraft on social media.
So far that the controversy has been caused by videos Nora Fatehi posted on Instagram when she flew on a Cessna Citation CJ2 aircraft on a Mumbai-Jaipur flight in December 2025. In the court filing of Dunes Aviation, Fatehi described the aircraft using words such as “miniature”, “toy” and “Lego airplane”. The company claimed that the comments were made in front of a large online audience because of the actress’ huge social media presence.
Dunes Aviation Alleges Commercial And Reputational Loss
Dunes Aviation has claimed that Nora Fatehi’s comments hurt its reputation and commercial operations in the defamation case. The aviation company said bookings declined by 15-20 percent after the actress’ social media posts, and cancellations also increased.
The company said the statements were made without sufficient technical knowledge about the aircraft and its safety/operational status. And the comments were “reckless” and “irresponsible,” they said in Dunes Aviation’s suit.
The aviation company has also highlighted Nora Fatehi’s immense social media presence in its legal filing, noting that she has more than 4.6 crore followers on Instagram. A public figure with such a large number of followers on Instagram, it said, could have a huge impact on a company’s reputation and business prospects.
Company Says Aircraft Was DGCA-Certified
Dunes Aviation has maintained that the aircraft mentioned in Nora Fatehi’s videos was fully certified and legally operated. As the company stated, the Cessna Citation CJ2 was DGCA certified and airworthy and operated under a valid Non-Scheduled Operator’s Permit (NSOP).
The company’s legal claim is, in fact, to say that Fatehi’s descriptions of the aircraft might have bred doubts about its safety, quality or legitimacy among potential customers. Dunes Aviation has therefore moved to sue Fatehi for the alleged damage to its reputation and business.
Besides monetary damages, the aviation company has also approached the court asking to remove any social media posts or any other content with the alleged statements or references to the aircraft. The airline also asked Nora Fatehi to publicize the views of the aircraft in a public statement.
When Will The Nora Fatehi Defamation Case Be Heard?
The defamation case will be before Senior Civil Judge R Agarwal on 25 September at Gandhinagar court. The proceedings will determine the next step of action in the dispute between the actress and the aviation company and could be the outcome of the case.
The case was filed in April 2026 by Dunes Aviation. At this stage, the allegations made in the suit are still claims by the aviation company and will be subject to the legal proceedings. The parties will make their case at a court hearing.
Nora Fatehi Yet To Respond
Nora Fatehi has not yet published any public comment on the defamation case nor Dunes Aviation’s claims. But it is unknown whether she will respond to the company’s claims before the scheduled hearing, or take a legal position during it.
The controversy highlights the legal and commercial consequences of comments made by celebrities on social media, particularly when such statements concern businesses or regulated industries. With millions of followers, comments by high-profile public figures can quickly gain widespread attention and can be a source of contention in the case of a company that thinks those comments have hurt its reputation or commercial interests.
The Rs 3 crore defamation suit is still pending before the Gandhinagar court and the next big thing will happen when it comes up for hearing on Sept 25.
