Ramayana Part 1 First Look: Kajal Aggarwal Shines as the Wise Queen Mandodari
The makers of Ramayana Part 1 have officially unveiled the first look of Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari, and their poster has already attracted an audience of fans on social media. Posing in a maroon royal attire and gold jewelry, Kajal is a symbol of the grace, wisdom and dignity of one of the most respected women in Ramayana. The first-look poster captures Mandodari’s regal presence and shows audiences the grandeur of the upcoming epic.
Mandodari, the queen of Lanka and wife of Ravana, is one of the wisest and most virtuous women in Hindu mythology. In contrast to many other characters in the epic, she is remembered for her intelligence, diplomacy, patience and unwavering moral values. In the poster she is described as a very wise counsel and diplomat who was knowledgeable about governance and politics and she was very competent when faced with crises.
The poster further explains Mandodari's background and how she was the daughter of Maya, the great architect of the Asura race, and Hema, a celestial nymph. Though in the Asura line and Ravana’s queen as a result of it, Mandodari had always been righteous. One of her most defining moments was when Ravana took Sita. As the poster indicates, Mandodari told her husband to return Sita and to seek peace with Lord Rama and warned him about the consequences of his actions. Her advice was not heeded and Lanka fell apart.
Kajal Aggarwal’s transformation into Mandodari is loved by fans. Her royal attire, elaborate crown, traditional ornaments and composed expression are the things that can only reflect her character’s strength and elegance. The production design, grand palace setting and all-around costume details only enhance the authenticity of the character from the movie, and the filmmakers have shown they want to make the Ramayana a big movie.
The build up for Ramayana Part 1 is on with every new character reveal and fanfare. The movie has been raving about its cast and beautiful visuals and has been a big deal in recent months for all of the big-screen remaking of one of India's biggest dramas. And Kajal Aggarwal's Mandodari is the movie’s most emotional actress, as we’re going to see some real emotion in her as the great queen in the movie.
