Movie lovers will be at the heart of one of the biggest movie battles of the year as Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana will clash with the anticipated sequel to Godzilla Minus One in the first week of November. It is no surprise that both movies are going to get a lot of attention in their respective markets.

While Ramayana is among India’s ambitious mythological epic films, the next instalment in the Godzilla Minus One franchise will have huge global hopes after the success of its predecessor.
Why the Godzilla Minus One Sequel is highly Anticipated
Godzilla Minus One, released in 2023, became a global phenomenon even if it was made with a relatively low budget of $10–15 million. The Japanese monster film would earn more than $110 million worldwide and become one of the most profitable movies in the franchise’s history.
The film also set the record in Japan as the first film in the history of the Academy to win the Best Visual Effects Award for Japan, with a very low budget and world-class visual effects.
Critical and commercial success of the movie raised expectations for the next film very high for its sequel.
Ramayana is looking for a huge global release.
On the other side of the clash is Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, one of the most anticipated Indian movies currently in production.
The film has a star-studded cast including:
Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram. Sai Pallavi as Sita. Yash as Ravana
With cutting-edge visual effects, big production values and a story based on Indian mythology, Ramayana will be released in different languages and will be made available in India for people from every part of the world.
Can both movies co-exist?
Industry observers think the competition may not be too bad for either film.
Though Ramayana will bring the Indian audience in with its mythological significance, the Godzilla Minus One sequel will be popular with fans of Japanese movies and the long-running Godzilla franchise in international markets.
As for the other films, both have different audiences; premium formats, like IMAX and big-screen shows could be in competition with each other if the release dates overlap.
Fans excited for a Global Box Office Battle
If there are two visually amazing films coming in around the same time, there will be a lot of discussion on social media.
When Ramayana is in the box office, fans are anxious to see if Ramayana can become a global box office hit, while the Godzilla Minus One sequel will have to carry on the great legacy of a movie which was so much better than the Oscar-winning predecessor.
It is worth noting, however, that release schedules can change and the makers of either film could change their launch date before the officially released date, and so it will be in a similar way for both movies.
