Hindi star Ranbir Kapoor has finally appeared to put a stop to one of the industry's longest-running casting rumors when he announced he won’t be part of Dhoom 4 and dismissed the lot of speculation that he’d be in the next film.
Ranbir Kapoor was rumoured for years to be the lead in Dhoom 4 in the media and entertainment portals. For people who wished to see him take over the franchise for a new story and a new villain to go with it. But now he has definitively denied those reports and has ended months of speculation of him taking over.
Ranbir confirmed in a recent interview that he has not signed Dhoom 4 and that the reports are not true. He added that he is entirely focused on his upcoming films like Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War.
The clarification came as a surprise to many of the fans who were waiting for Ranbir to enter the stylish, action-driven world of the Dhoom franchise. Since the release of Dhoom 3 in 2013, there has been a firestorm for news about the next movie from the time of Dhoom 3 as many Bollywood actors and actresses from the most recent years have said they are working on the project and many Bollywood stars have been linked to it. But Yash Raj Films has not made any official announcement about the cast, director of the movie yet or the release date of Dhoom 4.
Ranbir Kapoor is currently in one of his best phases. Thanks to the huge success of Animal, he is now one of the most wanted Bollywood stars. His upcoming projects are the mythological epic Ramayana on the big screen and Love & War film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, in which he plays Lord Rama.
Animal Park: The sequel to Animal still has fans waiting for more information. Although there is speculation about the sequel, Ranbir declined to discuss it during the last few chats and only mentioned his commitments.
Dhoom is still one of Bollywood’s all-time most successful action franchises. The last ones featured John Abraham, Hrithik Roshan, and Aamir Khan as the most charismatic antagonists and Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra as the recurring police team.
