Salman Khan, his sister Alvira Khan Agnihotri, and the directors of Style and Content Jewellery Private Limited have been summoned by a Chandigarh district court in connection with an alleged cheating case related to a Being Human Jewellery showroom. The court has called on all of them to appear on October 5, 2026, to respond to the allegations in the complaint. These summons are not a confession of guilt but rather a legal process, and the allegations are not yet proven.

Arun Gupta, a businessman from Chandigarh, filed a complaint stating he was told by management to invest ₹3 crore in opening a Being Human Jewellery showroom in Manimajra and that it was a business promise and the logo was being promoted. He spent ₹1 crore to build the showroom and fulfill the terms, it said. But he said no support was provided and the jewellery supply was disrupted after the company supply outlet closed down in February 2020.

At the same time, a number of people associated with the company had made false statements about the business opportunity and induced the investment, the complaint adds. Based on the allegations, the court has issued notices under the provisions of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) at the pre-cognizance stage, where the accused are ordered to appear and submit their responses before any further proceedings.

The company denied the allegations. According to its statement, the Being Human Foundation had licensed the Being Human brand name to Style and Content Jewellery Pvt. Ltd. in 2015, and the company maintained that the operation and management of the jewellery business was solely its responsibility. Salman Khan did not have a direct role in the franchise agreement or the day-to-day business dealings with the complainant, the report said.

The case will go to court on October 5, when Salman Khan, Alvira Khan Agnihotri, and the other accused will be present in Chandigarh court. The trial is still in its early stage, and the court will take into account the responses from all parties before deciding what next steps to take. Therefore, the claims are not proven until now, and only the court will judge the merits.
