Lee Know of Stray Kids has made a huge contribution to relief efforts in Nepal after a torrent of floods and mudslides took place in the country and many communities have been affected by destruction and displacement. The K-pop star had given 100 million KRW (around $72,610) to World Vision on August 28 and was also asking that it be made for children and families affected by the disaster.
The donation arrives at a time when communities affected by catastrophic flooding are suffering. Floods and mudslides hit the Nepal-Tibet border zone around the Trishuli River valley on August 26 and the affected areas have sustained heavy damage. Villages were affected; roads, bridges, and other infrastructure were destroyed and residents were in need of immediate assistance as relief efforts continue.
Lee Know’s contribution is likely to support both emergency relief and recovery for families affected by the disaster. The donation for food and nutritional assistance, temporary shelter, clean drinking water, and sanitation and hygiene care will be part of that, according to details about the donation.

So he asked that the Stray Kids singer’s donation go to help children and families affected by the floods. For those communities who lose homes, have to work harder to get the basic services they need and are trying to get back in the game, that help is very much needed at this point.

Lee Know had another message for people as well. He felt his donation might give some strength to the people who are going through such a difficult time. Not only did flood survivors cry out but so did people who worked to help the people in the field.
“I hope that my [donation] can become even the slightest source of strength for those who are going through difficult times,” Lee Know said.
He also said he wishes both flood victims and relief workers would return to their daily lives as soon as possible. “I sincerely hope that any victims and everyone who helps assist in our relief efforts and those who are here in the field of relief will be able to return to their normal lives as soon as possible,” he said.
A Contribution beyond immediate relief.
The donation comes at the moment of need for affected communities due to the flooding. Emergency supplies have to be up-front and after a major natural disaster the rebuilding takes a long time. Loss of transportation links and infrastructure can affect family access to food, water, healthcare and other essentials.
Lee Know is helping to lead a relief effort through World Vision, such as immediate humanitarian assistance and livelihood recovery as well as providing immediate humanitarian assistance.
