Bengaluru: The official teaser of the much-awaited Kannada film Devara Hesaralli Pramana Maduttene, starring celebrated lyricist, writer and actor Dr. V. Nagendra Prasad, has been unveiled in a grand ceremony in Bengaluru. The teaser was launched by legendary music composer Hamsalekha during the special Kaviratna Sarthaka Suvarna event, where he extended his best wishes to the cast and crew for the film’s success.

The film has already generated significant curiosity among Kannada cinema lovers with its unique blend of social issues, politics, and the importance of preserving the Kannada language. Positioned as a socio-political linguistic drama, the movie promises to deliver a thought-provoking narrative while keeping audiences engaged with suspense and emotional storytelling.
A Debut Directorial Venture
The film marks the independent directorial debut of Guruprasad Chandrashekhar, who previously worked as a writer and assistant director on Kannada films such as Second Half and Gandhi Mattu Notu. Speaking about the project, the director explained that the story revolves around the existence of the Kannada language and the socio-political realities surrounding it.
According to Guruprasad, the teaser intentionally reveals only a glimpse of Dr. Nagendra Prasad’s lead character and the political undertones of the story, leaving much of the suspense intact for audiences to discover on the big screen.
A Story Rooted in Kannada Identity
The title itself, Devara Hesaralli Pramana Maduttene ("I Swear in the Name of God"), reflects the central theme of the film. It follows the journey of the protagonist, portrayed by Dr. V. Nagendra Prasad, as he attempts to bring meaningful change to society and the political system while navigating evolving circumstances that transform his character throughout the narrative.
The filmmakers believe the movie will resonate with audiences who appreciate socially relevant cinema while also highlighting the cultural and linguistic pride of Karnataka.
Music That Celebrates Kannada
Music plays a vital role in the film, with Charan Arjun composing the soundtrack. Dr. V. Nagendra Prasad has written both songs featured in the movie, including the emotionally charged "Kannada Nanna Kannada."
The song had already earned widespread appreciation when it was officially released during the previous year's Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations by then Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who praised its powerful lyrics celebrating the Kannada language and culture.
The soundtrack will also include energetic folk-inspired devotional music from North Karnataka, along with impactful situational songs that complement the film’s narrative.
Strong Production and Ensemble Cast
The film is jointly produced under BVM Creations, DLV Productions, and Aniketana Pictures by B. Shivashankar, Dattatreya Jamadar, and Shashiprasad Chandrashekhar, with Shruthi Vale serving as co-producer.
Apart from Dr. V. Nagendra Prasad, the film features an impressive ensemble cast including Vaijanath Biradar, Dimpan Jeevan, Ashwitha Hegde, Bala Rajwadi, Pradeep Poojari, Srinath Vasishta, Srinivas Prabhu, Kalamadhyama Parameshwar, Ankita Gowda, Dattatreya Jamadar, and Mavalli Karthik.
The technical crew includes cinematographer Shivashankar Noorambada, editor Madhu Thumbakere, and CG & VFX artist Sangamesh Vale, while publicity is handled by Harish Arasu.
With its compelling storyline, socially relevant themes, and a talented creative team, Devara Hesaralli Pramana Maduttene is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Kannada films of the year.
