Vishnuvardhan Amrutha Mahotsava: Grand 500-Metre Flag March Planned in Bengaluru on September 27
Bengaluru is all set to celebrate Kannada legend Dr. Vishnuvardhan (Yajamana fans will always remember him as) with a grand celebration on September 27. Vishnu Sainikaru (fan community of the actor) is planning an Amrutha Mahotsava for almost 18 hours on that day.
The details of the event released so far said that preparations for what organisers hope will be a memorable tribute to the actor have already started. The celebration is being planned with an estimated expenditure of more than Rs 1 crore over months of preparation, hundreds of volunteers, and thousands of Vishnuvardhan fans' support.
500-Metre-Long Flag March to Be Major Attraction
One of the biggest attractions at Amrutha Mahotsava will be a flag procession which is half a kilometre long.
The procession will kick off at 6 am on September 27 from Bengaluru’s Town Hall. Thousands of fans are expected to carry the giant flag as they make their way towards Nayandahalli from there.
The unusual scale of the flag march will be one of the most visually arresting parts of the celebrations. For Vishnuvardhan fans, it is being projected as a collective show of their love and respect for the actor whose legacy remains strong among Kannada cinema audiences.
Celebrations to Continue Till Midnight
After the grand procession, the celebrations will move to Nandi Link Ground in Nayandahalli. There are various programmes planned at the venue throughout the day.
The event will begin at 6 am and end at midnight, so it will be an 18-hour celebration to remember and honour Vishnuvardhan.
Organisers have described the event as not just a fan meet. They want people to see how much affection generations of Kannada film audiences still have for the late actor.
A Tribute to Vishnuvardhan's Legacy
Vishnuvardhan is still one of the most popular names in Kannada cinema. During his long career, he became known for various roles and connected with audiences all over Karnataka.
The Amrutha Mahotsava proposed is to mark that bond. Veerakaputra Srinivas, who is associated with the organisation, said they want it to be a historic moment for fans and prove how much they love the legendary actor.
This celebration comes after previous attempts by Vishnu Sena and supporters to celebrate Vishnuvardhan’s 75th birth anniversary in a big way. Plans had been made earlier for Kannada film industry bigwigs to participate, as well as fan celebrations on the lines of Bollywood mega events.
