Yash to Team Up With Tamil Director P.S. Mithran? Here’s What the Filmmaker Revealed

Rocking Star Yash could then join up with the popular Tamil filmmaker P.S. Mithran for the next project if the actor and production house are ready. The thought of this collaboration has once again excited Yash fans because Mithran has already said he has another story in mind for Yash.

Tamil Director Reveals Plans for Yash Film

P.S. Mithran is known for films like Irumbu Thirai, Hero and Sardar with stories that combine commercial entertainment with technology, social themes and high-concept elements.

P.S. Mithran Had written a Story for Yash

According to Mithran's comments, he had prepared a script with Yash in mind. The director said that Yash had heard the story and liked it.

However, the project could not move forward at the expected pace because Yash's other major commitment, Toxic, went into production.

The development is particularly interesting because Yash has become more selective in selecting projects since the success of the KGF franchise. His upcoming slate will feature very prominent pan-Indian projects, so any collaboration with a director from another film industry is a big talking point.

Why the Project Was Delayed?

The primary reason for the delay was Toxic. Yash devoted time to the project, which was managed by Geetu Mohandas.

Yash recently revealed that Toxic itself involved an extensive shooting schedule, with the actor saying at the film's trailer launch that the project took nearly 200 days to shoot.

The film has finally entered its release phase, and pre-bookings are starting, and there is a lot of anticipation for the film to make a movie.

With Toxic occupying Yash's schedule for a long period, Mithran's project was naturally pushed back.

Will Yash and P.S. Mithran finally work together?

Mithran’s latest comments suggest that the project has not necessarily been abandoned. The film could still take off if Yash and the production house agree to proceed, the director said.

Hence, the project remains dependent on Yash’s availability, the actor's approval and the production team’s decision.

For fans, that’s an exciting prospect because Mithran has experience making action-oriented movies with strong central characters. His directorial debut Irumbu Thirai dealt with cybersecurity and technology, Hero looked at education, and Sardar has the espionage and national security theme.

A collaboration with Yash, though, could result in a large-scale commercial film with a strong concept at its core.

Yash's Growing Pan-India Line-Up

Yash's career has expanded significantly since the success of KGF: Chapter 1 and KGF: Chapter 2. Now he is working on a lot of projects for audiences in many Indian markets.

His current visibility has increased even further with Toxic, which Yash has described as an Indian film rather than restricted to a particular regional identity.

That makes a collaboration with a Tamil filmmaker particularly important. If the Mithran project works, it will become another major pan-Indian production in Yash’s career.

There is no official launch date or official announcement that the film has been greenlit. But Mithran’s reveal has certainly revived interest in the long-discussed collaboration.

If Yash and the production house ultimately give the project the go-ahead, Yash's massive screen presence and P.S. Mithran's high-concept storytelling could make it one of the most closely watched upcoming collaborations between Kannada and Tamil cinema.
