After nearly four years of not releasing a movie, Kannada superstar Yash is back with Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, one of the most eagerly awaited films in Indian cinema. The film’s popularity has increased even more now that Toxic has scored at No. 1 on the IMDb list of most eagerly awaited Indian movies and shows, which means there’s a huge interest among the audience in the film before it goes to the cinema.

Yash was seen last in KGF: Chapter 2 in 2022, which became a huge worldwide hit and cemented his status as a star in India's pan-Indian industry. Ever since then, fans have eagerly waited for his next project. With Toxic, that wait is almost over.

Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, directed by Geetu Mohandas, will be released on August 26, 2026, and is produced by both KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations.

The recent teaser, first song, and promotional material have generated huge buzz on social media. Yash’s dark-hued look, the film’s high production quality, and global appeal have been praised. The promotional campaign only helped to heighten expectations that Toxic will be one of the biggest releases of the year.

The film has a big ensemble cast with Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth, along with Yash. The ensemble and Geetu Mohandas’ unique style of filmmaking have added to the anticipation of movie lovers.

The anticipation rankings on IMDb are determined by user engagement and page views and thus indicate audience interest in the project. Toxic being at the top of the current list demonstrates the passionate interest in Yash’s comeback.

Yash is also involved in another big project, Ramayana Part 1, in which he plays Ravana alongside Ranbir Kapoor. That film has also generated huge buzz and shows that Yash is slowly becoming a part of the large Indian cinema.

The industry analysts believe Toxic will be a strong launch in many languages because Yash’s popularity in the country has been consolidated due to the KGF franchise. The film will be released in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and international markets to reach a global audience.

In less than two months before release, expectations are high. And if the pace is to be expected, Toxic is going to be one of the biggest cinematic events of 2026 and could mark yet another landmark in Yash’s career in this franchise.
