Imran Khan is finally returning to the big screen after a ten-year break as he has completed shooting for his Netflix film Adhure Hum Adhure Tum. The film is currently in post-production and is expected to be released on Netflix later this year - the first professional acting project since Katti Batti (2015).
The announcement has delighted fans who have eagerly awaited the actor's comeback after his extended break from the film industry.
Imran confirmed the news and provided details on the upcoming film in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India.
"I just finished shooting a new movie. It's my first movie in 10 years, and we are in post-production right now. It's called Adhure Hum Adhure Tum. It’s for Netflix and is going to come out at the end of this year. It’s a grown-up romantic comedy... age-appropriate to where I am now,” Imran said.
The actor said that the film depicts a more mature stage of his life and career. Unlike the teenage romantic roles that made him popular in films such as Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na, his new project takes relationships from an adult perspective.
Adhure Hum Adhure Tum is a grown-up romantic comedy and can blend humour, romance, and emotional storytelling with adults in their 20s and the world of contemporary relationships.
Though the producers have not announced the plot details and cast, they have already created a lot of buzz on the web about the return of Imran to the film industry.
Imran Khan became one of Bollywood’s most talented young actors with his first movie Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na (2008) as his debut film and soon became a popular actor who appeared in popular movies like Delhi Belly, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, and I Hate Luv Storys, earning a loyal fan following with his relatable on-screen persona and charming performances.
Imran stopped acting after Katti Batti in 2015 and kept a low profile. His fans had been calling for his return for years, and when Adhure Hum Adhure Tum was announced it was one of the most eagerly awaited comeback stories in Bollywood.
