Sharon Verma is now in the news after her clash with comedian Samay Raina on India’s Got Latent Season 2 went viral on social media.

The roast battle between the two, based on their respective regional backgrounds, was one of the talking points of the show all over again in the last episode.
In the episode, Raina had a playful dig at Verma’s Bihari roots when he joked about people from Bihar moving to Mumbai to get jobs.
Verma had a deadpan humour and immediately turned Raina’s joke on Raina and made a joke about his Kashmiri background.
The exchange was particularly memorable when Raina described Verma as a Bihari who had come to Mumbai looking for work. Verma immediately fired back saying: “At least I left my state by my choice.”
The punchline was delivered with laughter from the audience and the audience reaction was strong online.
Earlier in the exchange, Verma had also joked about Raina being Kashmiri, using dark humour to respond to his Bihar-related comments.
The back-and-forth could be considered a roast but the references to Bihar and Kashmir turned into a big topic on social media.
The exchange started circulating on X and several users praised Verma’s timing and confidence.
Some viewers called her answer a “mic-drop” moment, while others wondered if jokes about regional identity were too much of a joke.
Verma is no stranger to India’s Got Latent. She first came to national attention when she appeared on the show in 2024 and her dry delivery and jokes about growing up in Bihar quickly made her a viral comedy personality.
Her “weak, independent woman” routine also made waves online and it helped cement her as one of the show’s most recognizable performers.
Raina is well known for his roast-heavy comedy and has spoken often about his Kashmiri Pandit background.
His family was among those displaced from Kashmir during the militancy of the early 1990s and the Kashmiri Pandit exodus.
The latest exchange was particularly interesting because the comedians were not just trading generic jokes.
So the banter between them was personal, and they were from different parts of the country; that added a little more edge to the roast. Both continued to banter in a fun manner and Raina reportedly responded positively to Verma’s punchline.
The viral moment once again demonstrated the unpredictable nature of India’s Got Latent, where comedians and guests frequently roast each other and when clips are uploaded they’re downloaded instantly.
Sharon Verma’s comeback is one of the latest viral moments associated with the show and one of the most viral moments of all time.
And while audiences are divided on the boundaries of regional humour, one thing is clear Verma’s quick response has generated lots of conversation and brought her back to the centre of online attention.
