Rajinikanth is in the process of working on another action film - Dharman - an action entertainment movie, directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, with the movie being in development for some time. It has received widespread attention as the tentative title Thalaivar173 because it is a very big ensemble and the team behind the camera is a great one. Now there is speculation that Telugu actor Ram Pothineni is working with Rajinikanth and has the right to play a crucial role.

According to the report, Ram Pothineni has been approached for a key character in Dharman. The role is said to be of great importance to the story and the actor will play the role of an antagonist. If the casting is carried out, the movie would be a good one with two popular actors from different South Indian film industries as the cast will be really diverse and interesting.

The report also says producers wanted Dhruv Vikram to play the role but he declined. So the team approached Ram Pothineni, who is expected to be part of the project during its second schedule. With all the excitement in the world, note that the casting of Ram Pothineni as the antagonist has not been confirmed by the makers.

Ram Pothineni could make a movie opposite Rajinikanth a big addition to his career. The action, romance, and commercial entertainment actor has a huge fan base in Telugu cinema. And he is also said to be in Dharman, so the project would be more likely to be seen outside of Tamil Nadu too.

The actor is also preparing for another big career milestone. Ram Pothineni will make his directorial debut with a project tentatively called “RamPo23.” The new film is expected to be a thriller, and Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh is also expected to play the antagonist role. Details about the project are still being kept under wraps, but Ram's transition into filmmaking is being closely watched by his fans.

Dharman is also one of Rajinikanth's most eagerly awaited films in the future. Simran Bagga, Yogi Babu, and Raashii Khanna are also playing in the film. With Rajinikanth in the lead and Ashwath Marimuthu at the helm, there are high expectations for the action entertainer.

The technical crew also includes some top-tier names from the South Indian film industry. Anirudh Ravichander is composing music and background score for the film, and is also a big draw for the project. Niketh Bommireddy is in charge of cinematography while Pradeep E. Ragav is doing the editing. The Anbariv duo, known for working on large-scale action sequences, are on board as the action choreographers.

It is reported that the makers have already begun the second schedule of the film. The timing of Ram Pothineni's entry is especially remarkable since he will join the team at this stage of production. If so, he will allow the film to face Rajinikanth's character head-on.

Dharman has also undergone a lot of changes in its directorial journey. Sundar C was initially announced as the director of the Rajinikanth project. But he left the film. Then Cibi Chakaravarthi was attached, but then the film was relocated with Ashwath Marimuthu taking over the directorial role.

Rajinikanth’s film required extensive planning and more time to carry out because he was still interested in making the movie. Now that Ashwath is running the film, the team seems to be on the verge of giving a big action entertainment movie featuring the superstar.

In the process of production of Dharman, the possibility of Ram Pothineni as Rajinikanth’s nemesis has added even more suspense to the picture. But fans will have to wait for an official announcement from the makers before we take that casting as a reality. If true, the Rajinikanth-Ram Pothineni face-off will be the subject of all the talk about the film ahead of its theatrical release in early 2027.
