As Jason Sanjay gets set to make his directorial debut Sigma, the son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor Vijay, he is talking about the creative inspirations that have moulded his artistic thinking as he goes to market. Jason mentioned Prashanth Neel’s blockbuster franchise KGF in a recent interview with Behindwoods TV as a movie that changed the way he approaches cinema and highlighted it in the course of his career. The Yash-starrer KGF is his favorite commercial movie that he has ever watched and is never going to see another movie like it.

Jason also praised the seamless integration of a fictional narrative built upon a rich historical background, pointing out that the film was able to reconcile grand storytelling with unadulterated mass appeal. He said the film’s “gritty” feel is what makes it so special, and director Prashanth Neel really knows how to do it and the world-building is evident in each frame.

 KGF: Chapter 1 (2018) and KGF: Chapter 2 (2022), both backed by Hombale Films and starring superstar Yash, broke box office records in India and cemented the pan-India blockbuster phenomenon through high-octane action sequences, immersive production design and a larger-than-life cinematography.
