The censor certification comes at the end of the movie and as marketing starts. Mandaadi was scheduled to be released on September 4 but was pushed to September 10. Now it has been locked into on release date and is on its way to the world.

According to the censorship details, Mandaadi runs 154 minutes and 51 seconds and is about 2 hours and 35 minutes long. The U/A 16+ certification indicates that the film is aimed at a relatively mature audience but is accessible under the certification guidelines.

Mandaadi has attracted attention around the world due to its unusual setting and action fiction. It is an action drama with sports elements and much of the story is related to the coastal life of Tamil Nadu. Most of the filming was in open waters and primarily around the Ramanathapuram area, and the movie is very maritime in nature.

Soori’s physical commitment to the role has been one of the biggest talking points of the project. The actor has done a number of high-risk action sequences filmed at sea himself. Soori was also trained in sailing and the skills needed to participate in the film’s sailing scenes.

Mahima Nambiar, Suhas, Sathyaraj, Ravindra Vijay, Mithun Jai Sankar, Bala Saravanan and others are among the cast. Mahima Nambiar plays the female lead and returns to Tamil cinema with the project after her appearance in Naadu. Telugu actor Suhas is also making his Tamil debut with Mandaadi.

The film was not without its problems. The team was working extremely hard as an open water shooting crew throughout the entire process of making the film and the team was working in extremely tough conditions throughout the whole process. A production boat also sank during filming; equipment was lost during filming and there was a delay in the production. But the crew did shoot and went on to post-production.

The technical crew consists of many notable names. G. V. Prakash Kumar is the music director, S. R. Kathir is responsible for cinematography, and Pradeep E Ragav is editing. Peter Hein, Dhilip Subbarayan and Mahesh Mathew are also involved in action choreography, which is very important for the big action scenes in the movie.

The film was made by Elred Kumar under the RS Infotainment banner and filmmaker Vetrimaaran is the creative producer. The filmmakers are trying to promote Mandaadi as a pan-Indian release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.

Soori has the chance to become a leading actor for Mandaadi now. Comedy and supporting roles are getting more and more serious and physically demanding roles. Mandaadi has the scale to carry out huge theatrical projects.

Now the U/A 16+ certificate is in hand, the film has crossed a major hurdle ahead of its release. Now we are back to the final promotional campaign, advance bookings and audience expectations.

When September 10 arrives, fans will be looking forward to see if the film’s maritime setting, high-risk action sequences and Soori’s performance deliver the big screen experience promised by those filmmakers.

Mandaadi is now in place to go to theatres worldwide on September 10, 2026.
