Tamil superstar Suriya is in one of the most exciting periods of his career with a blockbuster already under his belt and two eagerly awaited movies on release in 2026. After Karuppu’s huge success, the actor is now preparing for Vishwanath & Sons and the tentatively titled Suriya 47, giving fans three major releases in one year.
Karuppu released earlier this year by RJ Balaji was a massive commercial success, which is reported to have crossed ₹300 crore worldwide and has helped Suriya to become more valuable. The fantasy action drama received rave reviews for its unique concept, strong performances, and box office performance, making it one of the biggest hits of the actor's career. Suriya's future projects are also being encouraged by the success of the film.
Vishwanath & Sons, directed by Venky Atluri, will be released on August 14, 2026. The emotional family drama will also see Mamitha Baiju, Radhika Sarathkumar, and Raveena Tandon in the lead roles along with Suriya. One of the movie’s high points is “The Wedding Song,” which Suriya has sung in his own voice and it is a very special movie. This film has already generated strong pre-release business in theatre, overseas, music and digital rights and distributors and exhibitors are very confident, the industry says.
The actor is also getting closer to finishing Suriya 47 produced and directed by Jithu Madhavan. The action-comedy is a hit with Nazriya Nazim Fahadh and Naslen and is one of the most talked about projects in Tamil movies. The makers are also considering a Diwali release on November 8, which would make it Suriya's third theatrical release of the year.
