Suriya Wraps Shooting for 'The One'; Jithu Madhavan's Action Comedy Enters Post-Production

Suriya has completed shooting for his much-anticipated 47th film, The One, as the action-comedy studio Zhagaram Studios released a 37-second video saying Suriya's new look as a police officer. The video shows the actor in a new police uniform and is very much like his character who has authority and a sense of humor. The short teaser also includes the atmosphere when filming and fans are waiting for the movie to be released.

Jithu Madhavan is the director who has transitioned from Malayalam films to Tamil. With Madhavan’s unique storytelling style and quirky characters, this action-comedy is expected to bring a fresh taste to Tamil cinema. Suriya’s The One is based on an eccentric police officer who leads an unusual team on an entertaining and action-packed mission while the makers have kept the plot under wraps but Jithu Madhavan’s trademark humor and offbeat storytelling will be present in the film.

The film also marks Suriya and actors Nazriya Nazim and Naslen K. Gafoor's first on-screen collaboration and so I’m anxious for the audience to see it. We love how the trio is in touch, especially with Nazriya returning to a big Tamil project and Naslen getting to make his first appearance alongside one of Tamil cinema’s most famous actors. The One has now completed principal photography and is now in the post-production phase.

The technical team will now work on editing, visual effects, sound design, and music as the film will be released. So the soundtrack for the film is very much in order for the film to be released in English and will be composed by the well-known composer Sushin Shyam, whose score has been a highlight in many of the recent Malayalam blockbusters with Suriya and Jithu Madhavan to add to the film’s energetic mood.

After the theatrical release, The One will be available on Netflix in a variety of languages. The digital release will allow the movie to reach out to Tamil-speaking viewers as well as international audiences. Suriya is in a new role now with a series of acclaimed performances so The One will have the actor in a new avatar. An enthralling cast, a successful director making his Tamil debut, and a talented technical crew are waiting for the movie to come out.
