Amitabh Bachchan has been the face of Kaun Banega Crorepati for more than two decades now but the veteran actor recently said hosting the popular quiz show is not always easy for him. Big B recently wrote a note on his personal Tumblr account about the emotional aspects of hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati 18. He said some contestants come to the show with extremely difficult personal experiences.
“These stories get in the way of me managing my own feelings and doing what I’m supposed to do as host,” Big B said. “Some of these stories are so grave that I can’t say anything or continue with the show.”
The veteran actor wrote that some contestants come with “grave personal stories” and it’s hard not only to deal with their emotions but to keep hosting the programme. He called it “heart-breaking” because emotional is what television shows aren’t usually associated with (knowledge, entertainment and a chance to win a big cash prize).
Amitabh also said there are things he can’t tell about his interaction with contestants because if he did it would take away from the understanding and responsibility of being a host working with the channel. His comments gave viewers an idea of the emotional pressure that can exist behind the cameras.
KBC’s New ‘Sochna Padega’ Theme
The 18th season of "Kaun Banega Crorepati" has also introduced a new theme- Sochna Padega. It talks about thinking before making a decision at a time when information is available almost instantly. The theme fits naturally with the format of KBC contestants have to use their knowledge, reasoning and judgement to answer questions and move ahead in the game.
