Bigg Boss Kannada Season 13 Faces Environmental Complaint Ahead of Grand Launch
With only a few days to go before Bigg Boss Kannada Season 13's big launch, another legal hurdle has been faced by the popular reality show. The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) has received a new complaint about the venue picked to host the show, and so far there doesn't seem to be any clear direction in place for the show.
Dinesh Kallahalli, a social activist, submitted a complaint to the pollution control authorities urging them not to grant permission for the reality show to be staged at Jollywood Studio, which is located on the outskirts of Bidadi in the vicinity of Bengaluru. The complaint says the studio has failed to comply with environmental standards and that previous violations remain unresolved.
Environmental standards were allegedly violated by Jollywood Studio during previous events and productions, Kallahalli said. He also alleged that penalties for those alleged violations have yet to be fully met.
One of the main allegations in the complaint is that the facilities, such as sewage treatment systems and waste disposal mechanisms are inadequate. The activist has claimed the studio is not meeting environmental standards (both for large-scale production facilities and for events) that are mandatory.
The complaint also asks the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board to immediately conduct an on-site inspection of the studio premises. It has been requested that the authorities check whether drainage systems, wastewater treatment facilities, and waste disposal systems are in place and working as required under environmental regulations.
Kallahalli also asked that permission to create and broadcast the reality show should not be granted unless the studio is found to be fully compliant with all environmental standards. He said such a large television production without regulatory controls would have environmental consequences.
The development comes at a crucial time for the producers of Bigg Boss Kannada Season 13, which is expected to be aired on September 6. The reality series, one of the most-watched TV shows in Karnataka, has already generated a lot of excitement among viewers. Promotional campaigns, contestants’ speculation, and preparations for the new season have been going on for several weeks.
The latest complaint has caused fresh doubts about the smooth conduct of the show. While neither the production team nor studio management has publicly answered the allegations, the issue has quickly become a topic of discussion among fans on social media.
