Karishma Tanna Names Baby Boy Ved On Janmashtami, Calls Him Her ‘Little Miracle’
Karishma Tanna and her husband Varun Bangera finally introduced their baby boy to the world by sharing his name. A month after having children they chose on Janmashtami to announce the name of their first child. On Friday, September 4 Karishma and Varun announced their son has been named “Ved Tanna Bangera”.
The couple’s announcement was made public on a joint social media post, giving fans their first official update about the baby’s name since his birth. Calling their son their “little miracle,” Karishma and Varun said they chose the name Ved for its association with sacred knowledge, wisdom and light.
“On the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami, with Kanha’s blessings, we lovingly introduce our little miracle… VED TANNA BANGERA,” they said. The name also represents “sacred knowledge, wisdom and light,” they said.
The timing of the announcement is a very significant moment for the family. Karishma and Varun welcomed their baby boy on July 29, 2026, which was Guru Purnima. On the day the actress had announced the arrival of her son, she had stressed the spiritual significance of the day. The couple have kept the newborn quiet ever since and did not share the name.
With the Janmashtami announcement, the couple has now given fans a glimpse into the thought behind their son’s identity. Ved is derived from the Sanskrit word “Veda,” which is associated with the ancient Hindu sacred scriptures. The term is associated with knowledge, wisdom and spiritual understanding, making it a name of deep cultural and religious significance.
Ved is a new chapter for Karishma in life. So the actress announced on April 6, 2026, her pregnancy after staying quiet for some time. She only occasionally showed her followers the experience, but mostly kept the details of her personal life away from the spotlight.
Karishma and Varun are now parents for the first time after more than four years of marriage. The couple got married in Mumbai on February 5, 2022, in a small ceremony where family members and friends were present. Their transition to parenthood is a result of a long marriage and their son’s birth was a significant phase in their relationship.
While Karishma is a new mother in her life, she also has a huge career in movies, TV and streaming. After an appearance on the television show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi (released in 2001), she made it to the big screen and movies so soon after and later did movies and television shows.
Hansal Mehta’s Netflix series ‘Scoop’ (2023) was the biggest moment in her career, so far. Karishma played journalist Jagruti Pathak, who gets caught up in a murder case and is in jail. This is a far cry from her previous TV performances and she was extremely grateful.
Jagruti Pathak was inspired by former journalist Jigna Vora, who had been arrested for the murder of journalist J Dey. Karishma's performance allowed her to show a more subtle and dramatic side of her acting and further solidifies that she can do difficult things and still be a good actor.
Karishma’s professional career is also going on, even though she is in motherhood. She is to be part of ‘Mom 2’ alongside Khushi Kapoor, which is yet another major project to her filmography.
