Khatron Ke Khiladi 15: Orry Opens Up On His Biggest Motivation, Says ‘I Wanted To See Who I Became’
Orry, also known as Orry Awatramani, has surprised viewers on Khatron Ke Khiladi 15. A star on social media and having done Bollywood movies with his friends, Orry entered Rohit Shetty’s stunt-based reality show with a lot of curiosity about how he would handle physically and mentally hard stuff. But as the season goes on, he still manages to make an impression with his determination.
Orry posted a video on Instagram showing a few of the pictures from his trip to Khatron Ke Khiladi 15. And along with the video, he wrote a long and emotional note about the experience and said he got into the show for a very personal reason.
Orry Reveals Why He Joined Khatron Ke Khiladi 15
Orry said in his Instagram note that he decided to take on the challenge without relying on his family or people back home. Indeed, he said he didn’t even tell his parents he was going to be part of the show.
Orry said his journey on the Rohit Shetty-produced reality show was unlike anything he had ever seen before. He wanted to put himself into a situation where there was no familiar support system, advice, or audience influencing his decisions.
Orry wrote, “I didn’t even tell my parents I was doing this. No daily check-ins, no frantic calls explaining the stunts, no updates to anyone back home—it was just me, in total solitude, performing every stunt gracefully in silence.”
The social media personality explained that he wanted to discover how he would respond when he had no one to do it for him. Orry was not about winning stunts or staying alive and going through eliminations. He was instead trying to understand himself a lot better.
‘I Wanted To See Who I Became’
Orry said that one of his biggest motivations was trying to dispel the view people have of him. He was trying to show himself that he was more capable than people might imagine based on his public persona.
“I wanted to see who I became when there was no audience, no advice, and no one to fall back on,” he said in his note.
The Bigg Boss 17 fame also revealed that when he first entered the show, surviving five episodes seemed like a sufficient achievement. But now he has made it through half of the season, something even he seems to be surprised by.
And so the road has become a personal victory for him, whatever happens to the stunts.
Orry Says He Wanted To Change People’s Perception
Orry went on to address the image that has often followed him in the public eye. He said that participation in the show was partly about showing that he was not the “vapid, fragile Barbie doll” people often characterize him as.
He admitted he has lost a few stunts on his journey but said he was proud of what he did. And for Orry, failure to accomplish a task didn’t necessarily mean failure.
He wrote, “Even though I have basically lost every single stunt I have lost elegantly and performed beautifully, never a victory but definitely never a defeat either and for that I am so so proud of myself.”
His words underline how he didn’t have the aim of being the strongest competitor on Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 and were seeking to push himself away and come away from the experience more confident.
Orry’s KKK 15 Journey
Orry has been in Khatron Ke Khiladi 15’s line of sight since his entry and has received quite a bit of attention since then. His status as a celebrity and social media personality, at first, was very interesting, and in his very first episode and in the second one (“The Lighter Side of the Story”) he was very popular and a good guy and the fans wanted to know what he was like.
The stunt-based reality show, hosted by filmmaker Rohit Shetty, has contestants face the fear of heights, water, speed, confined space, and other physical challenges that make them afraid of heights, water, speed, and other things they have to deal with in the stunt-based reality show (to survive and win the title).
For Orry, the experience has become much more than just another TV show. By keeping his participation out of sight of even his parents and choosing all the challenges largely on his own, he set himself up for a personal test.
Whether Orry makes it to the finale or not, his latest note suggests that Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 has already given him something he was looking for—an opportunity to step out of his comfort zone, confront public perceptions, and discover a different side of himself.
