Akhil Akkineni’s latest rural action drama has become a box office hit and is the biggest opening of his career. Set in the fictional village of Srirampuram, the film blends action, family emotions, village traditions and revenge in a story that has struck a chord with audiences in Telugu-speaking regions.
The film follows Lenin, played by Akhil Akkineni, as he returns from prison and finds himself in long-standing village feuds, colourful festivals and a cycle of revenge that tests his courage and relationships. With its rural setting, emotional storytelling and action-packed sequences, the movie has been receiving positive responses from audiences.

But trade analysts have estimated the film's two-day worldwide collection at around ₹23.4 crore, which is a far more conservative estimate than the producers’ claim. However, industry observers agree that the film has provided Akhil's best opening and has greatly improved his box office.
And it has been appreciated by the filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, who publicly praised Akhil’s performance. In a post on social media, Varma had said “Akhil is the best actor in the Akkineni family.” He said his film director and film producer did a good job of casting Akhil, and he was proud of it.
At the film’s success celebration, veteran actor Nagarjuna expressed his happiness at his son’s success. He told me he had prayed at Tirupati temple that the film would become a big hit and praised the audience for the movie’s success and love.
Bhagyashri Borse was emotional in front of the audience too as well. She expressed her gratitude for the big response to the movie and promised to continue to work in Telugu cinema and said the industry’s support had made her feel at home.
The film will continue to grow in collections in the coming days as positive word-of-mouth continues to spread and it is expected to continue to be a great movie. If all the momentum continues to build up, the film will be one of the best commercial successes of Akhil Akkineni’s career in the making and could be a key turning point in his rise as a leading Tollywood actor.
And as fans continue to flock to theatres, Akhil 2.0 seems to have struck a chord with them and is a new chapter for the young star in Telugu cinema.
