After winning the Pushpa franchise, Icon Star Allu Arjun is going to plan what he will do next.
The most eagerly awaited project is his collaboration with the great Malayalam filmmaker Basil Joseph. Since the makers have not publicly announced it, the news that the project will be made is very much going to make fans happy.
For years Allu Arjun has been talking about Basil Joseph. He is a superstar in the superhero industry with the superhero blockbuster Minnal Murali for which he mixes commercial entertainment with emotionally rich stories.
His style of cinema is so much more sought-after in Indian cinema and so many have said his mind-blowing vision would be very well fit with Allu Arjun's bigger screen presence.
The latest update is from filmmaker Arun Anirudhan who recently said that the Allu Arjun-Basil Joseph project has no connection with the long-promised Shaktimaan remake. It will also dispel the buzz on social networks that Allu Arjun will play the Indian superhero under Basil Joseph's tutelage.
Arun Anirudhan said the collaboration is a completely different project, with its own narrative. Although he did not shed any light on the plot, there are no doubts that Basil Joseph is indeed working on a separate film with the Telugu superstar.
In fact, actor Tovino Thomas, whose frequent collaborations with Basil Joseph are well-known, recently suggested that the director is working on another big project after finishing his schedule.
Tovino didn’t say Allu Arjun but industry sources believe he was referring to the much-discussed pan-India film.
Basil Joseph has become so popular due to making a special kind of movies where he makes his movies funny and action-driven and blends fantasy and heartwarming elements, because he can do that with comedy and action in a film and the audience can feel it.
His movies Godha and Minnal Murali are the best of all and he is now one of the most innovative filmmakers in the Malayalam film industry. He should show how he can produce that creative vision for a pan-India audience with an actor like Allu Arjun.
Allu Arjun is still one of the busiest actors in Indian cinema. Pushpa: The Rise and Pushpa 2: The Rule both went on to be huge hits and now he is one of the biggest box office stars in India. And he’s going for something more radical than other kinds of commercial formula.
Although there is no official information on the cast, title, genre or production banner, trade circles suggest the film could be mounted on a grand scale with high production values and a fresh concept aimed at audiences across multiple languages.
Social media has been ecstatic about the new update, saying that fans are calling the collaboration of Allu Arjun and Basil Joseph the “dream collaboration.”
Many feel that Basil’s storytelling and Allu Arjun’s charisma, screen presence and pan-India appeal should make for one of the most interesting Indian films of the future.
As a result, we wait for official word from the film production house and stars in the future. But until then the fact that the project is not related to Shaktimaan only fuels the curiosity.
If the collaboration is real then it will surely be one of the biggest and most refreshing partnerships in modern Indian cinema.
