Bengaluru: The countdown has started on the release date of "Chennai Love Story," which is one of the most eagerly awaited romantic dramas of the year. With Kiran Abbavaram and Sri Gouri Priya, it will be released globally on July 24. For the preparation of the film, the cast and crew traveled to Bengaluru to promote it, and Kiran Abbavaram recalled the good times in the city and said he wanted to thank the Kannada film industry.

In the promotion campaign, the lead actors Kiran Abbavaram, Sri Gouri Priya, and Karnataka distributor Kumar spoke to the media in Bengaluru about the film’s emotional storyline and audience.
Special premiere shows will be held in Bengaluru on July 23, a day before the global launch date. The film will be shown in more than 100 theatres in Karnataka, a sign of confidence of the filmmakers in the Kannada market.
Kiran Abbavaram Recalls His Bengaluru Days
Kiran Abbavaram fondly remembered his days working as a software engineer in Bengaluru before he entered the film industry.
After completing B.Tech, he got a job in Bengaluru, where he lived for nearly three years.
"Bengaluru holds a very special place in my heart. I spent years in BTM Layout, Bellandur, HSR Layout, and Marathahalli. I still remember walking through the Silk Board junction every day while going to work," he said.
The actor said as a software engineer and an IT worker, he often found himself stuck between whether to continue in the software industry or pursue his dream to become an actor.
"There were times when I thought about quitting my job. It was so hard to call it in because I didn't know the future, and I wanted to go back to cinema, and I was in love."
Inspired by Yash and Rakshit Shetty
Kiran said the Kannada cinema stars Yash and Rakshit Shetty were major inspirations in his acting career.
Both actors proved that talent and hard work can help anyone succeed without industry connections, he said.
"The mere fact that actors like Yash and Rakshit Shetty were coming out of the background and were not from ordinary backgrounds gave me the confidence to chase my dreams," he said.
After quitting his IT job, Kiran turned to films and now has completed around 12 movies in five years and delivered several projects.
"Chennai Love Story" has all the elements to connect emotionally with audiences, he said.
Sri Gouri Priya Calls It Her Career's Best Role
Sri Gouri Priya, the film’s star, said the film was one of the most meaningful projects in her career.
She said unlike conventional romantic dramas that focus on the hero's perspective, "Chennai Love Story" gives equal importance to the male and female protagonists.
"It’s a really beautifully balanced story. My character demanded emotional depth and physical preparation, and so it was one of the toughest and most rewarding roles of my career,” she said.
She also recalled her previous visits to Karnataka during the shooting of her earlier films, saying she has wonderful memories of Gokarna and Bengaluru.
New Romantic Story With Emotional Depth
Kumar had very high confidence in the film's success, comparing it to the blockbuster romantic drama "Baby."
He said the movie adds romance, suspense, emotional twists, and realistic storytelling that today’s youth can easily relate to.
He believes the film would resonate with Karnataka audiences and so is going to make a wide release across the state.
"Chennai Love Story" has a strong cast, a compelling emotional story, and a strong promotional campaign, and is most likely to be one of the most romantic releases of the season. When it comes to theatres on July 24, fans are eagerly waiting for Kiran Abbavaram and Sri Gouri Priya to make this love story come to life.
