Ravi Teja’s Irumudi is making waves at the box office. It has seen continuous housefull shows at Nataraj Theatre in Nizamabad. And it has gotten a lot of attention because the theatre used to be in the middle of a fight between Mythri and SVC camps.

The Nataraj Theatre issue had become a point of contention in the Telugu film exhibition business, especially because Nizamabad is connected to the family of the producer and distributor Dil Raju. Mythri had already taken over the Nataraj Theatre in Nizamabad, so the Nataraj Theatre was an important point in the rivalry between the two camps.
Now, the reported response to Irumudi at the same venue has added another interesting chapter to the story.
Housefull shows at Nataraj Theatre were considered relatively rare according to the latest buzz. Since Mythri took over, however, Irumudi is experiencing a surge in audience demand and even has back-to-back housefulls.
Irumudi is a very special release for both the actor Ravi Teja and director Shiva Nirvana and it is a good development. Mythri Movie Makers has presented the film as an emotional family drama with devotional elements. The film will be released on August 21, 2026.
The film’s promotional campaign has been very much about its emotional core. Ravi Teja plays a father whose relationship with his daughter is a central character in his own transformation. The story also has Ayyappa devotion, with the protagonist taking the sacred mala as part of his life changing journey through it.
That combination of family emotion, spirituality and Ravi Teja’s mass appeal seems to have generated considerable interest among audiences.
Nataraj Theatre development is especially significant because theatres are an integral part of the Telugu film business. The presence of large screens in key territories can certainly be critical to a film’s visibility, show count and opening-day performance. And for distributors and producers, big screens in crucial centres can be transformational for the movie in a big release.
The Nizamabad market is thus a focus as Irumudi starts its theatrical run. The continuous housefulls at Nataraj Theatre would be a sign of the film's performance in the region.
Mythri Movie Makers has been aggressively promoting the film on the theatrical stage. The production house reported fast-filling shows across Telugu states and a lot of booking activity. However, it also announced that Nizam territory release would be handled by Mythri Release.
The wider release strategy of the movie has also attracted some attention outside India. Mythri’s promotional updates have focused on overseas pre-sales and the domestic campaign has focused on getting people to go to the cinema and watch it.
Irumudi is a slightly different direction for Ravi Teja. Rather than focusing on the adaptation of the energetic commercial formula in so many of his films, this project is more about a more emotional character arc. There was an initial focus on the father-daughter relationship and the protagonist’s spiritual growth.
Shiva Nirvana, however, brings his emotional storytelling skills to the project. The director has written the story, screenplay and dialogues and G.V. Prakash Kumar has composed the music. Priya Bhavani Shankar plays the female lead, with Baby Nakshathra as Ravi Teja's daughter.
The reported housefull streak at Nataraj Theatre has also become one of the talking points of the film's release. What is even more interesting is the venue’s past connection with the Mythri-SVC theatre fight.
But individual theatre occupancy numbers should be viewed as an indicator of local demand not as evidence of the film's box-office performance. The film’s commercial performance will ultimately be determined by collections in all of the locations, occupancy levels and audience response over the next few days.
Irumudi, for now, appears to have made a strong impression at Nataraj Theatre in Nizamabad. The reported continuous housefulls have also provided fans with another reason to celebrate and the theatre has become one of the talking points for the film’s opening.
As the film continues its run, the question for the theatre will be whether the strong initial response can lead to continued occupancy in Nizamabad and other major centres. If housefull momentum continues, Irumudi will become even stronger at the box office and the Nataraj Theatre story of this release will be even more memorable.
