Prabhas’ eagerly awaited #Fauzi is making another step in its global theatrical development and Phars Film will be in charge of international sales. The development adds more momentum to the period action drama, which will be released worldwide on December 3, 2026. We have heard that the director is working on a big international release for the film.

The overseas distribution agreement is especially significant as Prabhas has gained a huge international audience through films like Baahubali, Saaho, Salaar and other big budget movies. All of his movies are going to be in India but there is a much bigger audience outside India so the overseas distribution is integral to their theatrical strategy.

With Phars Film coming on board for the overseas release, Fauzi will get a wide international release. The distributor has already been involved in the release of large Indian movies in overseas markets and the partnership is an important addition to the film’s global vision.

The news comes at the same time as the countdown to December 3 is on its way. The date for Fauzi’s release was officially announced in July, and director Hanu Raghavapudi said Fauzi will make its worldwide theatrical debut on Dec. 3. It is going to be a big multilingual release and will be seen in multiple Indian languages as well as international markets.

Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, the filmmaker behind the acclaimed Sita Ramam, Fauzi is a period action and historical-fiction drama centred on a soldier. The story is set against a historical background and should have action, emotions, sacrifice and rebellion at its core.

Prabhas is going to portray a soldier in the film, marking another significant character for him as he continues to work on big projects aimed at the mass audience in India and beyond. A previously released poster showed the actor in a battle-weary appearance, carrying a rifle and surrounded by the aftermath of war. The poster had the tagline: “A Battalion Who Fights Alone.” And that’s the movie’s narrative and scale.

The film also has debutant Imanvi as the female lead and the veteran cast includes Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher and Jaya Prada alongside him. This adds another dimension of interest to the project, especially with the period setting and historical-fiction background of the film.

Production is also moving at a rapid pace. Recently it was reported that multiple units have been working simultaneously to finish the remaining parts of the film and Prabhas is expected to finish his portions around August. The accelerated production schedule reflects the team’s effort to keep things on track for the December theatrical release.

The overseas distribution announcement is therefore at a critical stage. Now that production is rolling and the release date is set, international distribution arrangements are in place a couple of months prior to the theatrical premiere.

The development is especially exciting for Prabhas fans outside India. Thus, a strong overseas release can help a Pan-India film get more exposure and allow audiences in countries with large Indian populations to see the film close to its worldwide release.

The popularity of Prabhas, the emotional storytelling skills of Hanu Raghavapudi and the period setting of the movie have already made Fauzi one of the most closely watched upcoming Telugu films.

The movie is produced by Mythri Movie Makers in partnership with T-Series with music by Vishal Chandrasekhar, cinematography by Sudeep Chatterjee and editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao.

For Prabhas, Fauzi is another ambitious project, after his recent run of big-budget movies. He has a number of major projects, but the period setting and Hanu Raghavapudi’s direction give Fauzi a distinctive identity.

The December 3 release is also expected to make the film one of the big theatrical attractions of the last month of the year’s theatrical events. Now that the overseas distribution is in place, the makers can concentrate on promotional activities and build up anticipation in the domestic and international markets as well.

As the launch date comes closer, more promotional material from the movie (teasers, songs, trailers and more character revelations) will be made public. Each update will also give us a better sense of the world of the movie and the character of Prabhas.

For now, the overseas distribution deal strengthens the movie's global ambitions. Phars Film will distribute Fauzi overseas and the Prabhas-led period action drama will be released worldwide on December 3, 2026.

Fauzi is very much on track to be one of the most eagerly awaited Pan-India releases of 2026—with an international distributor on board, a major star at the centre and Hanu Raghavapudi as the director.
