Rashmika Mandanna has made her first public appearance since surgery for a hip injury she suffered while filming her upcoming movie Mysaa. She was among the people in Hyderabad at producer Niranjan Reddy’s son’s engagement ceremony, as her husband Vijay Deverakonda was also there. Her husband arrived with her, and they looked happy as they posed for photographers and gave fans an eyeful of Rashmika after her recent health issue.
Rashmika had selected a black-and-gold lehenga with intricate embroidery and a heavily detailed dupatta for the engagement ceremony. Her traditional yet glamorous look was the first thing that came to her mind at the event. Vijay Deverakonda was also wearing black clothes. The coordinated look and relaxed demeanour of the couple were a talking point with fans, especially since this was Rashmika’s first public outing since her surgery.
Rashmika had already disclosed the injury to her fans on social media. The actor said she got a serious injury while shooting a dance sequence for Mysaa and that the film was one of the most physically demanding projects she has done through her work on the project. One of the tendons in her right hip had collapsed, and she had to undergo surgery and take time away from her career commitments, she said in her Instagram post.
The actor said four tendons on each side of the hip connect the hip region to the leg, and in her case, one tendon on the right side had detached, so it was hard to move. She said the tendon needed to heal and reattach properly before she was able to ease her way back onto the ground and perform physical activity. Her recovery has therefore required patience, rest and medical supervision.
The actor also described her injury as her third consecutive injury and said that at the time she had considered keeping the matter private. But eventually she was able to tell her followers so they would know she was not able to work out, but she was doing her best. But despite her injury, Rashmika was upbeat and assured her fans she was going to be fine.
The injury has not only had a temporary effect on the production schedule of Mysaa, in which Rashmika is playing a physically demanding lead role. The movie is directed by Rawindra Pulle, and she is playing a tough Gond tribal girl as an action-oriented character. She will require a lot of work as a physical person who would have to get used to the gym and perform a lot of physical work to get the right skills.
Mysaa is one of Rashmika’s more eagerly awaited projects as it shows her in a different and more intense avatar. The actor has been steadily doing different roles in Telugu, Hindi and other Indian language films and the new project is expected to show another difficult aspect of her acting abilities.
Rashmika is recovering at home and hasn’t started filming for Mysaa yet. But her first public appearance after the surgery indicates that she is slowly returning to social and public life. The fans have been overwhelmingly approving of her appearance and wishing her a full recovery before she is back to doing physical work.
Rashmika has already appeared as a part of the Hindi film Cocktail 2. She has also worked with Mysaa and will be making a special appearance with Vijay Deverakonda in Rahul Sankrityan’s Ranabaali. The reunion has generated so much waiting energy from their fans that they have been following them closely.
Rashmika’s focus is on recovery and getting her back to work. Her appearance with Vijay at the Hyderabad engagement has offered fans an encouraging glimpse of the actor after surgery. From the many projects she is working on, audiences will be waiting for her back on the set if she is medically stable.
