Ravi Teja’s ₹8 Crore Fee Could Turn Into ₹45–47.5 Crore Payday Thanks to Irumudi Nizam Rights

Ravi Teja’s remuneration for Irumudi is turning out to be money spinner for him. Instead of usual upfront fee only the Mass Maharaja reportedly took fixed remuneration plus Nizam theatrical rights (sic). This could multiply his earnings from blockbuster.

Ravi Teja reportedly got ₹8 crore as fixed remuneration for the film. Nizam rights were reportedly given to him (they were valued at about ₹7 crore before release of the film) (at that time it might have looked like very easy arrangement but after super success of the film at box office value of that territory changed completely).

Irumudi has grossed ₹53.76 crore share (GST inclusive) so far from its theatrical run and trade estimates are that if all goes well during the entire run of the film then the film could go over ₹60 crore share.

It is this dramatic increase in the value of Nizam business that makes Ravi Teja’s deal so interesting. If GST, expenses and distributor commissions are also included while calculating what can be made from Nizam (reported trade calculations) then the actor can make around ₹45 crore to ₹47.5 crore from Nizam business. These figures are estimates based on reported trade calculations and should not be treated as officially confirmed earnings.

That difference is even more stark when compared with normal remuneration deal. Ravi Teja was said to have opted for the normal full fee deal so his fee for the film could be ₹25 crore but under rights based deal reported in media the actor would be paid for phenomenal theatrical run of the film.

The Nizam rights valuation of around ₹7 crore became the real deal. As Irumudi kept doing well commercial value on those rights went up and Ravi Teja got much bigger upside than fixed remuneration agreement would have given him.

This sort of remuneration structure is very lucrative when the movie becomes a major theatrical hit. A fixed fee gives an actor income regardless of box office performance; territory rights or profit linked arrangements can create substantially higher returns if the movie does better than expected.

Irumudi seems to have given Ravi Teja that kind of upside too. His reported ₹8 crore fixed fee plus Nizam rights could mean overall earnings way above the about ₹25 crore fee reportedly involved in a traditional deal.

The news also shows how much theatrical territory performance still has in economics of major South Indian films — territory that starts out relatively cheap can be very expensive if the movie clicks with audiences and carries momentum through its run.

If the numbers are correct till the end of the run then Ravi Teja’s decision to include Nizam rights in his remuneration package could be one of the biggest deals he has ever done. What looked like a ₹7 crore rights component could fetch several times that much — so for the Mass Maharaja it was money spinner.
