After a successful theatrical run, Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s blockbuster Maa Inti Bangaaram will be aired on OTT on July 17. One of the most female-led Telugu films of the year, the action drama will launch on JioHotstar and give the film a second chance to see it from the comfort of home.
The official announcement was made by JioHotstar on social media. The streaming platform posted: “MaaIntiBangaaram streaming from July 17th on JioHotstar! #MaaIntiBangaaramOnJioHotstar.”
The announcement was welcomed by fans and many of them posted in the comments section to express their happiness. “We are ready,” one wrote, while another said “Woah. Too fast.” Someone else asked: “Please release it in Dolby Atmos.”
Maa Inti Bangaaram is a huge hit in India (released in cinemas on June 19). Tralala Moving Pictures underwrote it and it has crossed ₹100 crore worldwide and is one of the biggest commercial hits of 2023.
The film is also one of the highest-grossing female-led Telugu films to date. It is also the highest-grossing movie with Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead role, another achievement in the actress’s long-standing career.
The action drama made almost ₹60 crore net at the Indian box office according to industry tracker Sacnilk and nearly doubled its reported production budget of ₹30 crore.
Directed by BV Nandini Reddy, the film is jointly produced by Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Raj Nidimoru and Himank Reddy Duvvuru under Tralala Moving Pictures.
Besides Samantha, the cast includes Gulshan Devaiah, Diganth Manchale, Gautami, Sreemukhi, and many other great actors.
Maa Inti Bangaaram is a story about a woman who has a life-changing secret and struggles to find acceptance in an old-fashioned family. When ghosts of her past come back to her she has to protect her skeptical family from imminent danger without revealing the truth she has kept hidden. The movie was emotionally and family-based in the viewers and critics.
And the technical team of the movie also played a major role in its success. Santhosh Narayanan composed the music background score and brought out the emotional and action-packed scenes in the movie. Om Prakash was cinematographer and Dharmendra Kakarala was the editor and both were associated with the story of the film and how it was structured.
With the Bollywood release Cocktail 2 (Shahid Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Kriti Sanon, etc.) Maa Inti Bangaaram continued to perform well at the box office despite competition and Samantha’s strong performance.
With the digital release imminent, moviegoers who were unable to see Maa Inti Bangaaram in theaters and want to watch it again can also watch it on JioHotstar on July 17. With good box office numbers, good reviews and Samantha Ruth Prabhu's compelling lead role, we can expect the film to attract a lot of fans on OTT and will continue its successful run outside cinemas.
