New Delhi: A classic Telugu movie has once again become a topic of conversation among cinema lovers, and the brilliant performance of Sridevi and Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (N.T. Rama Rao or NTR) has made the front page discussion.
The interest has been fueled by the monsoon season when the evergreen movie songs from cinema films find their way back to playlists. This includes songs from the Telugu blockbuster Vetagadu (1979, with many younger viewers coming back and discovering a surprising fact about the film's lead actors.
When Vetagadu was released in 1979, Sridevi was around 16 years old, while N.T. Rama Rao was about 56, a gap of almost 40 years. The pairing is still surprising audiences, especially those who came to know about the movie decades after it came out.

Despite the age gap, Vetagadu is a movie based on entertainment value, a chart-topping soundtrack, and the star power of its actors. And for Telugu cinema fans, it is one of the important movies.
