Haiwaan makers have officially unveiled the film's first look, putting in motion what looks like a dark, dangerous, and unsettling look at what is sure to be a very interesting thriller. The news of Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan reunited in Bollywood after 18 years has been met with great fanfare.
Directed by the award winning filmmaker Priyadarshan, Haiwaan marks the first collaboration between the director and Akshay Kumar (which has already given him many of the best movies). The first look poster of Haiwaan has all the elements of a suspense-laden and gritty thriller setting a great vibe as the first few scenes are shot so that the suspense is thick in the atmosphere and it is very intriguing and would make for one of the most eagerly awaited thriller movies of 2026.
The film will go into general release on September 11, 2026. Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan are reunited as in past works. Their reunion after almost two decades has added to the buzz around the project.
Haiwaan has a talented supporting cast in addition to the lead duo of Boman Irani, Saiyami Kher and Shriya Pilgaonkar who will be the main characters in the movie.
The project is funded by KVN Productions in partnership with Thespian Films and produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Shailaja Desai Fenn. With Priyadarshan at the helm and a very diverse ensemble cast, the expectations are high for a psychological thriller with mystery and edge-of-your-seat action scenes.
The plot has been kept under wraps but the first look suggests Haiwaan will take us to a darker and more intense cinema world than fans of Priyadarshan's comedy entertainers are used to. The film’s look, haunting imagery and suspenseful feel have already triggered a firestorm on social media.
Haiwaan is on the way to becoming one of the year’s most eagerly awaited Hindi movies with the power of a great director, two great actors and an intriguing plot that is sure to get everyone pumped up for its release date in September 2026.
