Bollywood actor Govinda has opened up about the persistent infidelity allegations of his wife Sunita Ahuja. He has kept quiet to protect the privacy of the women in question, he said.
The veteran actor said he could reveal many things if he wanted to but deliberately chooses not to discuss certain matters publicly. Govinda said he respects the privacy of the women whose names can potentially be dragged into the controversy.
His comments come after several public debates over his relationship with Sunita Ahuja. Sunita has occasionally spoken about her husband’s relationship with other women - a comment that has made people talk about infidelity and has prompted speculation.
Govinda, however, seems to have taken a different approach. The actor has declined to answer each accusation with details about his personal life, saying he prefers to keep it quiet only. So, in his most recent comments he has said: “I do not want to reveal private conversations, or even talk to other people just to defend myself publicly.”
The actor also claimed that Sunita connects his name with almost every woman he meets. Govinda said her suspicions have sometimes been extended to women who might just be acquaintances or people he works with professionally.
The comments have once again brought attention to the couple's long-standing relationship. Govinda and Sunita have been married for decades and have two children, Tina Ahuja and Yashvardhan Ahuja. While there have been occasional public discussions about their relationship, the couple is still together and speaks about their family quite a lot.
Govinda’s recent declaration also highlights the difficulty celebrities face when their personal relationships become public fodder. Relationships between actors and colleagues are constantly watched in the industry and the media is also heavily influenced by rumours.
Rather than escalate the situation, Govinda's reluctance to disclose more seems to be an attempt to keep some matters private. But his admission that he could disclose more but does not have the guts to has raised fans’ curiosity and speculation as to what he was talking about.
