Hina Khan has shared a really funny story of meeting Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan for the first time and how, when he was very tired, the actor was warm and considerate and very friendly.
Hina recalled the incident when she appeared on the POV podcast with Rocky Jaiswal, Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla. She said her first encounter with Shah Rukh was on a flight when she was still relatively new to the entertainment industry.
At that point, Hina was working on Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai for a year and a half. She noticed Shah Rukh sitting nearby and was immediately nervous about approaching him.
Hina Waited For Shah Rukh To Wake Up
Hina, according to her, noticed that Shah Rukh was sleeping when she first saw him. She wanted to ask for a picture, she said, but she didn’t want to disturb him.
Finally, the actor woke up when coffee was served. Hina took the opportunity to introduce herself and ask if she could take a picture with him.
Shah Rukh was said to respond positively and told her he would pose for a photo. After having his coffee, the exhausted actor went back to sleep.
Hina then decided to wait.
She recalled that she kept hoping Shah Rukh would wake up before the flight ended. When the aircraft landed, she thought she might have missed her opportunity.
But the superstar remembered his promise.
According to Hina, Shah Rukh got up after landing, called her over and posed for a picture with her. The two were also travelling in the same coach later on in the day, and Shah Rukh went back and slept again.
Shah Rukh was exhausted During The Journey
Hina explained that Shah Rukh was promoting a film at the time and had reportedly gone without proper sleep for several days.
Even with his exhaustion, he did his best to honour his promise to a young actor who had approached him for a picture.
Hina thought the incident was an example of Shah Rukh’s warmth and professionalism.
The story also showed us the very busy schedules of Bollywood stars when they are shooting films and travelling for promotions.
Abhinav Shukla Shares His SRK Meeting
Abhinav Shukla also recalled his first meeting with Shah Rukh Khan during the same podcast conversation.
Abhinav said he had recently arrived in Mumbai from Punjab and was working as a model when he first saw the superstar.
The meeting took place backstage during a ramp show for a watch brand. Shah Rukh entered the backstage area while Abhinav was there.
Abhinav wanted to meet the actor, and he decided to approach him and shake his hand.
According to Abhinav, Shah Rukh was speaking to his manager when he noticed him. The superstar then got up and shook Abhinav’s hand.
Abhinav remembers that one small gesture so much.
He said Shah Rukh’s willingness to acknowledge and greet a newly arrived actor in the industry shows his personality and character.

Hina Khan is still one of the top faces on Indian television and has also taken her work to other areas of entertainment. She was last seen on television in Pati Patni Aur Panga alongside her husband Rocky Jaiswal.
Shah Rukh Khan, however, is still one of India’s most followed film stars. He is preparing for his new action thriller King, which will be released on December 24, 2026.
Hina’s flight story and Abhinav’s backstage memory also reveal a similar impression of the superstar: despite his huge popularity, Shah Rukh has often been remembered by colleagues and fellow actors for acknowledging people warmly.
However, for Hina, the most memorable part was not meeting one of India’s biggest stars. It was that Shah Rukh remembered his promise even after a long road trip and a grueling promotional schedule and made sure she got the picture she had been waiting for.
