Kartik Aaryan has been seriously injured while shooting an action sequence in the sports drama directed by Kabir Khan. He was injured during the final phase of filming. He was admitted to Fortis Raheja Hospital in Mahim, Mumbai, where he is currently being treated.
The incident happened on the last day of the film’s shooting schedule. The makers had reserved the last two days of the schedule for filming action sequences. Kartik was hurt during the shoot, and production was halted.
A source close to the actor told News9 Digital exclusively that the schedule for the film will depend on Kartik’s recovery. “We will know when the shooting will resume only after he is discharged,” the source said.
Kartik Aaryan to Undergo Surgery
Kartik Aaryan was rushed to Fortis Raheja Hospital in Mahim after the injury. The actor will undergo surgery and take a few days of rest afterwards, according to reports.
The remaining portions of the film will still be finished once Kartik has recovered. The actor has other professional commitments, and his recovery period could affect his shooting schedule too.
The sports drama from Kabir Khan has been one of Kartik’s most eagerly awaited projects. The actor plays a kickboxing coach who trains a young girl from Kashmir. The story is inspired by the real-life journey of athlete Tajamul Islam.
The film has been shot across locations in Mumbai and Kashmir. It also marks Kartik Aaryan’s debut as a producer under his banner, Dopamine Studios. Kabir Khan Films co-produced the project.
Kartik Aaryan and Kabir Khan’s Second Collaboration
The upcoming sports drama marks Kartik Aaryan’s second collaboration with filmmaker Kabir Khan after Chandu Champion, which was released in 2024.
In Chandu Champion, Kartik played the role of Murlikant Petkar, India’s first Paralympic gold medallist. Although the film didn’t perform at the box office, Kartik’s performance was highly commended.
His performance also earned him the National Award for Best Actor, adding another major milestone to his career.
Kartik is once again playing a physically demanding role with his new Kabir Khan project. The injury reportedly occurred during the last leg of production when he was filming an action sequence.
Kartik Aaryan’s Other Projects
Kartik Aaryan has several projects besides Kabir Khan’s sports drama in his pipeline. He is expected to resume work on Anurag Basu's upcoming untitled romantic film after recovering from his injury.
The romantic drama has been in production for almost a year and has been filmed at various locations across the country. Sreeleela also stars in the film.
The makers had already announced December 5, 2025, as the release date for the project, but the release was later postponed indefinitely.
Kartik also has Naagzilla in his upcoming slate. With several projects lined up, fans will now be waiting for an update on his health and recovery.
For the moment, the shooting of Kabir Khan’s sports drama has been put on hold. The film’s production schedule is expected to be reassessed once Kartik is discharged from the hospital and completes his recovery.
