Priyanka Chopra has given a bit about her marriage with Nick Jonas and why he is willing to appreciate her Indian heritage so much in addition to helping her to settle down.
Priyanka discussed the role of cultural understanding in a relationship where partners are of different backgrounds in the New York premiere of her documentary The Cycle of Love with E! News. Nick's effort to learn and take part in traditions that matter to her, she said, has been the glue of their relationship.
Priyanka explained that respect for a partner's roots is particularly important in a multicultural marriage. Nick’s acceptance of her Indian identity is not something she takes for granted, she said.
Nick Jonas Embraces Priyanka’s Indian Heritage
Nick Jonas has adopted some of Priyanka’s Indian culture over the years. The couple has attended Hindu festivals together, and Nick enjoys Indian music and traditions.
Their daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas is also introduced to her mother’s cultural heritage. Priyanka and Nick have tried to make sure Malti grows up with an understanding of both sides of her family and their respective traditions.

Priyanka is also involved as an executive producer with The Cycle of Love. The documentary tells the real story of PK Mahanandia, a young artist from Delhi who travelled thousands of miles by bicycle to reunite with the Swedish woman he had fallen in love with.
Mahanandia, who came from a poor Dalit family, started his epic journey in 1977. His bicycle trip had a distance of around 6,000 miles and traversed through a number of countries in the name of Sweden and Lotta von Schedvin.
The story of love, determination and an extraordinary journey is at the heart of the documentary.
Director Praises Priyanka's Contribution
Director Orlando von Einsiedel also spoke highly of Priyanka's involvement in the project at its New York premiere.
He recalled that the filmmakers considered Priyanka an ideal executive producer while developing the documentary. She watched the film and approached the team about joining the project, he said.
Von Einsiedel praised Priyanka’s global profile and experience and explained that her involvement in the independent documentary brought it to a wider audience.
Independent films can be hard to get to the public and audiences. Hence, Priyanka’s participation has been a big boost for the documentary.
A Relationship Built On Respect
Priyanka Chopra’s latest comments offer another glimpse into her relationship with Nick Jonas.
