Sushant Singh Rajput’s Sister Shweta Raises Questions Over His Death Again

Shweta Singh Kirti, sister of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, has once again questioned the reasons for his death and said that she still believes that something was not right and that there may have been a cover-up.

Shweta recalled in a recent interview with Supertalks By Themovingship to revisit the events surrounding Sushant’s death and said that she had many questions unanswered even well over six years later. She said there was foul play and expressed her disappointment at not being able to find satisfactory answers.

Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead on June 14th, 2020 at his Mumbai house. His death led to a lot of publicity and several agencies in the investigation had to take part and many theories were developed and others in various aspects of the investigation.

Shweta has been vocal about her belief that the circumstances of her brother’s death deserve further scrutiny. She has since addressed some aspects of the case at length, including the post-mortem and the locked-room situation, she said in her recent comments. She said, “After all those years, the family still doesn’t know what really happened.”

Shweta claims there was a “Cover-Up”

The actress’s sister has also claimed there was “some kind of cover-up” surrounding Sushant’s death. She insists she still believes something was wrong with the circumstances of the case.

Shweta also recalled Sushant's state of mind after his former manager Disha Salian's death. According to her account, Sushant was deeply disturbed after Salian's death and expressed fears that “they will not even spare him.” Shweta said she did not know whom he was talking about or what he may have had.

She also mentioned claims by psychics who allegedly told her that there had been foul play. But such claims are not solid evidence established by investigators and remain part of Shweta's personal account.

What did the CBI conclude?

Shweta's latest comments come even after the CBI filed a closure report after investigating the death in 2025. The agency concluded that it found no evidence of foul play or criminal conspiracy and regarded the death as a suicide. The report also cleared Rhea Chakraborty and others named in the related cases of the allegations investigated by the agency.

The CBI's findings differ from Shweta's continuing belief that the circumstances deserve further investigation.

Sushant’s family and millions of fans have been affected emotionally. His death was one of the most widely discussed celebrity cases in India and social media speculation continued long after the official investigation was done.

Shweta has now said that she is still interested in what happened; she would like to know how Sushant lived and how he left behind a legacy as well as celebrate it, but she cannot wait forever for closure.

It is important to distinguish between Shweta’s claims and official findings. The CBI’s closure report found no evidence to support a murder or criminal conspiracy and her claims about foul play or a cover-up have not been established as the case.

Shweta's comments have once again reopened the Sushant Singh Rajput debate and once again brought the long-standing issue back into the spotlight and reminded people that questions surrounding the actor’s death are still causing strong emotions even six years later as we know it.
